🐦✨ The Story of Victoria ✨🐦
This painting holds the initiation of a relationship I’ll carry for life❤️🔥
One evening, I heard frantic flapping above me.
I looked up and saw the mother robin I’d been watching all spring, the one nesting just outside my window.
She was in a panic…something wrapped tightly around her neck, unable to free herself.
I rushed to help—moving quickly, instinctively, finding the longest broomstick I could find. Standing on a chair, reaching as high as I could, doing whatever I could to hold her steady long enough to free her.
When I finally got her down, she was in shock, choking, barely breathing.
I brought her inside and saw it clearly—a piece of floss, wound so tightly around her neck I couldn’t even get scissors underneath it.
I spoke to her the whole time, telling her she was going to make it, that her babies needed her, that I would find a way.
After carefully working through her feathers, I found the smallest opening and cut her free.
I carried her back outside,
held her in my hands,
prayed over her, sang to her,
and offered energy healing for nearly 30 minutes,
holding her between worlds, trusting she would return.
And THEN
she opened her eyes.
Flew from my hands
to a nearby branch.
She rested there through the night.
By morning, she was back—feeding her babies.
I named her Victoria.
Since then, she and her mate, Reuben, return each year.
And no matter where I go…a robin appears, quietly guarding the threshold before me.
What began as a moment of need
became something sacred—
a bond,
a remembering,
a GUARDIAN woven into my path.
