🌀 ANXIETY 🌀
Anxiety is a feeling of persistent worry, nervousness, or unease. Common symptoms include panic, fear, insomnia, shortness of breath, restlessness, muscle tension, difficulty concentrating and rumination of thought. Symptoms depend on the type of anxiety disorder a patient has.
Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. However, people with anxiety disorders frequently have intense, excessive, persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Anxiety disorders involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks). Anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, out of proportion to actual danger and may become chronic.
Symptoms may start during childhood or teen years and continue into adulthood. Examples of anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), specific phobias and separation anxiety disorder.
