Here’s what your intuition should tell you:
🚩🚩Protein : protein matters for healing, but it’s not the only most important thing. Your body needs enough calories and fuel to have the energy to heal. If you’re under eating or dehydrated, simply hitting protein won’t fix that.
🚩🚩Healing as a whole: Your incision does not close in isolation. Your incision will close using holistic interventions. This includes managing constipation, under ending food, labels, proper compression, etc., etc. Remember, your body has to have more than just protein to heal. Without everything else, it makes Recovery very difficult.
🚩🚩 as a plastic surgery dietitian, nutrition is at the forefront of helping any woman prepare for their plastic surgery. In fact, I believe it is the number one factor in how your outcome will be from surgery.
Not in a “counting every gram protein, hitting your water goals perfectly, doing everything right” but in an intentional way:
Creating micro habits that add up, listening to your body, and choosing foods that are not “right or wrong” but rather choosing how they will move the dial in healing your body.
