🌍✈️ Dreaming of an international adventure? Before you pack your bags, let's talk Medicare! 🩺
Did you know that Medicare generally doesn’t cover health care services abroad? But don’t worry, there are a few exceptions:
🚢 Emergency services on a ship within U.S. territorial waters (within 6 hours of a U.S. port). The doctor must be legally allowed to provide medical services on a cruise ship.
🏥 Medically necessary services in a foreign country under specific conditions, like if a medical emergency happens in the U.S. but the nearest hospital is across the border, or if you're traveling through Canada between Alaska and another U.S. state without unreasonable delay.
Even if these exceptions apply, you'll still need to cover the usual deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance, just like in the U.S. But in most cases, you’ll be responsible for 100% of the costs.
Travel should be about creating unforgettable memories, not stressing over health coverage. Whether you're exploring new destinations or visiting family, our team is here to help you navigate your Medicare needs abroad.
