Have you ever had a filling or crown done and suddenly your bite just doesn’t feel right?

Your bite is more than just how your teeth touch, it’s a delicate balance between your teeth, muscles, and jaw joints. If something feels “off,” it’s your body telling you there’s an imbalance that needs to be corrected.

“Why do my teeth feel more sensitive after a cleaning?”

Such a common (and totally normal) question..

Here’s what’s really happening
👉 Plaque and tartar removal exposes fresh enamel.
That layer was covering sensitive areas near the gums - once it’s gone, your teeth may feel “zingy” for a few days.

👉 Gums may be a little inflamed or receding.
If you’ve had buildup sitting along the gumline, removing it can briefly expose root surfaces that are more sensitive.

👉 Temperature changes feel stronger.
Cold air, water, or even sweets can trigger short bursts of discomfort right after a deep clean.

The sensitivity should calm down within a few days.

Pro tip: use a sensitive toothpaste and avoid extreme temperatures for a few days post-cleaning😮‍💨

“Why does my tooth hurt when I bite down?” - one of the MOST common questions we get..

Tooth pain when biting isn’t always from the tooth itself.

It could be caused by:
👉 A cracked tooth or filling
👉 Clenching or grinding (TMJ-related muscle strain)
👉 Bite imbalance putting too much pressure on one area
👉 Inflammation around the tooth or nerve
👉 Even sinus pressure mimicking tooth pain

The key is finding the real SOURCE - not just masking the symptom. That’s why we take a full-mouth, functional approach to diagnosis and care.

📲 If you’re dealing with pain when chewing or biting, it’s time to get it checked..

“What if you could guide facial growth - without braces?”

This case is a beautiful reminder of how powerful early, gentle intervention can be. 💫

When this young patient first came to us in 2022, she wasn’t ready for orthodontic treatment yet and that was perfectly okay. Instead, we began with myofunctional therapy retraining the tongue, lips, and facial muscles to work in harmony, supporting the body’s natural ability to grow and align itself.

And over time, something incredible unfolded.

Through improved tongue posture and functional muscle balance, her palate naturally expanded, her teeth aligned, and her facial growth developed beautifully - all without braces or appliances. This is the quiet power of understanding growth patterns early on.

By guiding function first, we allow the body to do what it was designed to do - grow in balance, naturally and beautifully.

Today, she’s in light orthodontic treatment for final refinements, but the true transformation began long before that - when we prioritized healthy function.

➡️ Healthy function creates beautiful form.
➡️ Early intervention creates lifelong stability.

If your child is between 7–12 years old and showing signs of crowding, mouth breathing, or tongue thrusting it’s not too late to make a lasting difference.

Guess what...

If your nasal airway isn’t open, mouth taping can actually make breathing worse - not better.

Before trying mouth taping, it’s so important to understand why your nasal passages aren’t staying open.
For some people, the problem isn’t the habit of mouth breathing — it’s an underlying airway issue.

Proper evaluation can help you:
👉 Identify if there’s a blockage or inflammation
👉 Improve nasal airflow naturally
👉 Support better sleep and overall health

Always, Always, Always address the root cause before trying quick fixes.

Breathing through your nose improves oxygen use and keeps your jaw relaxed.

10/30/2025

Breathe better. Sleep deeper. Live healthier.

Keeping the nasal airway open isn’t just about comfort - it’s about oxygen, growth, and long-term health.
When the nasal airway is blocked, the body compensates by mouth breathing, which can lead to poor sleep, fatigue, changes in facial growth, and even TMJ issues over time.

Encouraging nasal breathing supports:
Deeper, more restorative sleep 💤
Better focus and behavior in children 🧠
Balanced jaw and facial development 🦷
Improved overall wellness 🌿

Nature’s orthodontics: your breath and your tongue.

Nasal breathing and proper tongue posture don’t just support better sleep and health — they actually help guide teeth into better alignment naturally.

Here’s how it works 👇
👃 Nasal breathing keeps the mouth closed and promotes healthy jaw development.
👅 Proper tongue posture (resting gently on the roof of the mouth) helps shape the upper jaw and create space for teeth to grow in straight.

When the tongue isn’t where it should be - or when a child mouth breathes - the jaw can narrow, teeth crowd, and facial growth patterns can change. Early awareness and myofunctional therapy can make a lifelong difference in airway health, facial balance, and smile alignment.
➡️ It’s never too early to support proper breathing and posture habits, start today.
