Melanie Lane Reese, LMFT

Melanie Lane Reese, LMFT I am a Licensed Trauma Therapist and Consultant, providing holistic mental health services in Nashville, TN and beyond (telehealth).

I strive to create an environment in my practice that is nonjudgmental, safe and nurturing. This gives way for conversations and healing that often would not take place. I mainly work with teens, young adults and women. Areas of focus include trauma, migraines, anxiety, depression and managing life transitions. Typical issues can include self-esteem/self-identity, self-harm, personal growth, divorce/divorce adjustment and parenting concerns, among other things. Everyone has a unique story to tell. As a therapist, it is my goal to walk along side each individual to help them discover, learn and grow from that story. Not everyone fits into a "formula" for therapy. I enjoy getting to know each client and utilizing different approaches that best suit their needs. I believe that effective therapy offers a space to reflect, gather insight, learn skills to cope with the issues at hand and to feel heard. I use an integrative and individualized approach that may involve examining the past and connecting to present feelings or conflicts to previous relationships or experiences. For others, therapy consists of learning new skills to cope with stress and difficult emotions in the present. My goal is always to meet my clients where they are and to provide a safe and supportive environment for my clients to explore and grow from their experiences. I appreciate you taking the time to consider me as your therapist. If you have any questions about the therapy process or would like to make an appointment, please contact me and I will get back to you promptly. I look forward to speaking with you!

June is Pride Month and we want to celebrate and affirm the LGBTQ+ community! While belonging to the LGBTQ + community can be a source of strength, it can also bring some challenges. Recognizing how your sexual orientation and gender identity can impact your mental health is important to having the support you need.

Welcome to Integrative Therapy of Nashville

I’m so glad you stopped by and I would like to tell you what therapy here is all about!

We are made up of the experiences and memories from our past that have been integrated into how we show up in our own lives and relationships today. Your mind and body are deeply connected and I’ve developed my approach to mental health wellness with these things in mind.

I recognize you are having a human experience and accept you without judgement, wherever you may be. You will always get an empathetic heart and truthful insight, mixed with a little humor when we meet. It’s always my goal that you leave feeling heard and also challenged in each session.

I often integrate several therapy methods that fit the needs of each client. I believe that we are all unique and do not fit one “formula” of therapy. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR – Level II), Animal Assisted Therapy (Canine) and Trauma Sensitive Yoga.
