COOKEVILLE -- Fans looking to circle the calendar for Tennessee Tech's 2025 Homecoming will be able to mark down November 1 as it was announced Wednesday that the Golden Eagles' home Ohio Valley Conference/Big South Football Association contest against Gardner-Webb will be the date.

Obituary
Donna Louise Sparks Haskins was born to Bessie and Casto Sparks in Madison, Tn on May 8, 1947. She ended her walk through twilight to her appointment with heaven where Jesus greeted her on Wednesday morning, December 18, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harold. She is survived by her husband Dan, son Nathan and many loving relatives.
Donna grew up in Old Hickory. She attended and was baptized at Old Hickory First Baptist Church. She attended kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school in Old Hickory graduating from DuPont High School in 1965. She attended Tennessee Technological University receiving a degree in Home Economics with a minor in science, 1969. She pursued certification as a dietitian. She also pursued a master’s degree in education which she practiced as a pre-kindergarten teacher.
Donna was a true helpmate to her husband as they partnered in ministry. Donna’s main area of work was as a ministry assistant at Stone Association of Baptists, Cookeville FBC, Homesteads BC, and Tulip Grove BC.
Donna’s favorite Bible passage was Proverbs 3:5-6 which became her guide for life.
She was known as a dependable and industrious worker. She displayed a cordial, loving and sweet spirit with everyone in all situations. Her sweet smile and gentle spirit will linger in the memory of all who knew her.
A service of remembrance will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025 Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN.

Obituary from Hooper Huddleston Funeral Home-

A memorial service for Dr. Joe Wiles, age 80 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, November 25th at 11:00 am at Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

His family will receive friends Saturday at the church, from 10:00 am until service time and immediately following the service.

He died Tuesday afternoon, November 21st at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Dr. Joe. We know he is rejoicing with Jesus. He has touched and blessed so many of us. Please pray for Anna Lee and their family.

Pray for the family of Dr. Joe Wiles who passed away this evening. Pray for peace and comfort during this time. Dr. Wiles was director of the Baptist Campus Ministry at Tennessee Tech and Director of Missions for the Stone Association for many years. Arrangements will be announced.
