Vulnerability is the purest form of self-love. Poets are brave souls who risk rejection every single day when they share their words with the world.

She briefly talked about Su***de Prevention Month, her work with Lady Gaga's Foundation, .official, and how a smile and showing people it's ok to be imperfect can save a life.

Participants were encouraged to journal or write a poem with the theme "Bad Blood", to release feelings of anger or resentment.

Many participants chose to bravely step up to the mic and share their poems. Afterwards, they talked about feeling cathartic sense of release.

Vulnerability is the ultimate act of self-love! It requires us to set down our shields of shame, and show up as our true selves, all the while knowing we may be shunned, criticized or ridiculed for it.

Much love and gratitude to the brave writers, poets and all who attended September's Writer's Mingle sponsored by Poetry in the Boro and MTSU Writes, and hosted by Sara Minges.

Much love and gratitude to the brave poets for sharing their poems with the group. A bit different than previous events, we discussed how poetry can be a cathartic tool for releasing anger and healing our hearts.

We also talked about how a smile and letting people know you care how they are doing cansave a life.

Participants were encouraged to write for 5 minutes on the topic of "Bad Blood." Most of the participants chose to step up to the mic and read their poems aloud to the group.

We were amazed by the raw depth of emotion and imagery! From complicated family relationships, hometowns, heartbreak from relationships ending, it was a transformational moment of healing.
80% of artists struggle with a significant mental health issue. Yet, they choose to process their pain through art and share it with the world. In essence, they unapologetically let themselves be judged.

We encourage you to write your own poem about "Bad Blood". If you are struggling with releasing emotional pain, healing from heartache, or feel like joy is missing in your life, please call 615-906-6475 or send a private message.
