Several of you have written in about getting some records with some really old dates. In the State of Mississippi those are sealed records. But there is still hope. I want everyone to know about OmniTrace. They are a licensed private investigating company that has united over 10,000 families. They can get access to sealed records. Their fee is $1200 and they will set up a payment plan. I only discovered this recently. Hope this will help everyone. The older the records the harder it is to obtain them. I have succeed in finding a few myself through just digging and determination but they can do it much faster.

Best of luck to all of you. I know how important this is to each and everyone of you.

From Laura Horton Farrish:

I am so proud of my husband. He has spent so much time and energy trying to find his adopted sister, that was adopted 42 years ago, and after searching for years and reaching dead ends after dead end he never gave up. Finally I can say he found her! She contacted us Tuesday and we have been in touch every since. His main reason was for his mom because he knew how hard it was for her to give her baby up even tho she didn't want to but back then being a minor she didn't have any rights so she had no choice. She never forgot her beautiful baby girl and always thought about her and always grieved on her birthday but this year is going to be different! It's going to be joyous and happy! I love my husband and this is just one more reason why. Because of the way he thinks of other's....

We have had a reunion. A girl in Kings Daughters at the same time I was and delivered exactly 2 weeks earlier than me, has found her child in the last 24-48 hours. God is SO good! Will give details when I get permission. So excited!

Now this is an emotional roller coaster! 65 years after giving birth to a son and being forced to give him up, this woman reunited with him. When you see how it happened, you might not believe it. A must see video.

If you are viewing this site hopefully you will be encouraged by what you see. This site is dedicated to all "the girls who went away". There is a good book out now entitled "The Girls Who Went Away: The history of the girls who surrendered their babies for adoption in the period before Roe Vs. Wade in 1973". Young adults of today do not understand the social system of the pre-1973 era, and often adoptees feel like they were abandoned by their birth mothers. If anyone needs to vent, or release longtime pain, or just converse, feel free to come here. I was one of those girls who went away and after years of pain and inner suffering I have come to grips with what was real back then and what was not. I can relate to the pain of the situation. So feel free to chat or just read posts of others if you so desire.
