12.7% of Black women have been diagnosed with diabetes and Black adults as a whole in the U.S., are 60% more likely than white adults to be diagnosed with diabetes.

Furthermore, researchers found that earlier screening promotes the ability to diagnose these conditions across racial and ethnic groups, which could reduce the health disparities faced by these groups.
