Since joining OMC in 2017, Kazue Seo has spent the past eight years working with CEO to transform the IT department from a one-person operation into a coordinated team of three. Originally from Japan, Kazue was drawn to OMC’s mission of serving the Natchitoches community; a value that deeply resonates with her.
Her focus is clear: ensuring every byte of data and every system update supports OMC’s commitment to exceptional patient care. “One of my current focuses have been to further improve the accuracy of various data reports we produce for our day-to-day operation. Those reports will directly and indirectly affect the ways we provide patient care every day as well as various compliances we need to follow.”
Kazue’s leadership philosophy centers on communication and connection. “I’m always looking for better ways to communicate with my team,” she says. “Even when we’re all working on different tasks, I would like to keep my value face-to-face communications at high value to find and discuss problems we face, and to improve motivation and engagement in the department.”
Kazue doesn’t just orchestrate IT systems; she also hits high notes as a seasoned trumpet player! “Some people know, but I play the trumpet! While I majored in Computer Information Systems at Northwestern State University (NSU), I was also a trumpet performance minor, playing in the NSU Jazz Orchestra for four years. I still play in the community brass band twice a year!”
Whether she’s playing the trumpet or leading her team, Kazue remains truly instrumental to OMC’s mission.
