🌸 Postpartum Preeclampsia Awareness 🌸

At Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, the care for mothers doesn’t stop at delivery. New moms are receiving a bracelet to signify they have recently given birth, an important reminder that the postpartum period is a critical time for monitoring health.

💡 Why it matters: Postpartum preeclampsia can develop after childbirth, even in mothers who had no blood pressure issues during pregnancy. Early recognition saves lives.

🚨 Warning signs to watch for include:
• Severe or persistent headaches
• Vision changes (blurred vision, spots, light sensitivity)
• Swelling of the face or hands
• Shortness of breath
• Nausea or vomiting
• Upper abdominal or shoulder pain
• Sudden weight gain

If you or someone you love recently gave birth and experiences any of these symptoms, seek medical care immediately. Trust your body and speak up.
Together, we can raise awareness and keep mothers safe—during pregnancy and beyond. 💕
