If you have cystic acne, DAIRY might be keeping it alive.

It’s not just about breakouts.
Dairy can influence hormones, digestion, and how thick your skin oil becomes.

When sebum gets thicker, pores clog more easily —
and that’s where deep, painful cysts begin.

Not all dairy is the same.
Some types are more congestive, while others may be tolerated in small amounts.

Save this post to learn which dairy is better — and which is worse for your skin. ✨

In the previous 4 carousels, I explained:

• The root causes of cystic acne from an Ayurvedic perspective
• How digestion affects deep inflammation
• Which food tastes worsen or improve this pattern
• And now — how grains and dairy influence metabolic load

Next, I’ll create posts about:

• Beans
• Fruits
• Herbs for cystic acne
• And an easy detox that supports bile flow

Cystic acne must be treated from the inside out.

If you have cystic acne and you’re still eating grains without strategy… this may be why your skin isn’t improving.

In this carousel (Secret #4), you’ll learn:

• Which grains support Kapha–Pitta cystic acne
• Which grains increase congestion
• How grain choice affects bile flow
• Why some “healthy” grains can thicken sebum
• How to structure your plate to reduce deep inflammation

But here’s what we didn’t have space to fully explain 👇

Cystic acne is very often connected to:

• Insulin resistance
• PCOS
• Elevated androgens
• Blood sugar instability

When blood sugar rises quickly:

→ Insulin increases
→ IGF-1 rises
→ Androgen activity increases
→ Sebaceous glands are overstimulated
→ Oil production increases

Now add sluggish liver function.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, this is a classic Kapha–Pitta imbalance:

Kapha = heaviness, thickness, stagnation
Pitta = heat, inflammation

Excess sweet foods (including heavy grains) increase Kapha.
Metabolic stress increases Pitta.
Poor digestion creates ama (metabolic residue).

The liver becomes overloaded.
Bile flow slows.
Hormones are not cleared efficiently.
Sebum becomes thicker and more inflammatory.

That’s why many women with PCOS experience:

• Deep jawline cysts
• Painful pre-cycle flares
• Slow healing
• Persistent congestion

This is not random.
It’s metabolic.

Deep, painful cysts?
Secret # 3
This is NOT about “just eating more vegetables.” 👇

Cystic acne is usually connected to:

• Sluggish bile flow
• Poor hormone clearance
• Thick, sticky sebum
• Internal inflammation

If bile doesn’t flow well, toxins and inflammatory byproducts recirculate.
Oil becomes thicker.
Swelling increases.
Cysts go deeper.

And here’s the mistake:

People eat “healthy” —
but choose the wrong vegetables for inflamed skin.

Some vegetables actively support bile flow and reduce inflammation.
Others can slow improvement during a flare.

Strategic eating > random healthy eating.

In this carousel I break down:

✔ Which vegetables to eat daily
✔ Which to use in moderation
✔ Which to limit during active cystic acne
✔ How to structure your plate

Secret #2 about Cystic acne.
Big, deep, painful cysts usually reflect what’s happening inside the gut first.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, this pattern is often a mix of:
🌍 Kapha → heaviness, clogging, oiliness
🔥 Pitta → heat, inflammation, acidity

When digestion becomes slow and heavy, food isn’t fully broken down.
Toxins (ama) build up, circulate in the blood, and the skin becomes the exit route.

That’s why what you eat matters — but how food behaves in the body matters even more.

Ayurveda doesn’t look at calories.
It looks at taste and qualities:
• Bitter & astringent help clear heat and congestion
• Sweet & salty need moderation
• Sour & very spicy often worsen cystic acne

When digestion becomes lighter, cooler, and more efficient,
the skin can finally calm down.

Secret #1 of 10 — Why cystic acne is not a skin problem.

If you’ve tried every product and cysts keep coming back, this is why.
Cystic acne starts inside the body — with sluggish digestion, congestion, and chronic inflammation — long before it shows up on the skin.

In this series, I’ll be sharing 10 core secrets that explain cystic acne from the inside out and show you how to work on the root, not just the surface.

Dry but inflamed?
Oily and congested?
Calm one week, flaring the next?

That’s because acne is not one condition — and generic routines miss the root cause.

In this carousel, I’m breaking down my 7 Ayurvedic acne types, based on:
✨ digestion
✨ nervous system
✨ hormones
✨ inflammation patterns

Caroline came to me with a complex health history — rosacea, autoimmune conditions, and a past gallbladder removal. These layers required a careful, personalized, and holistic approach.

In this carousel, I’m sharing the full protocol I created specifically for her — step by step — and how this approach supported real, positive changes.
✨ The protocol worked.

This case is a reminder that when we look at the body as an interconnected system and address root causes rather than symptoms, meaningful healing is possible.

Why didn’t I know this 10 years ago…
when my skin was crazy dry, reactive, tight, and inflamed? 😣

Back then, I followed every wellness-guru tip —
👉 garlic for “detox”
👉 ginger for gas and bloating

But those tips did not work for my skin-body type.
They actually made my skin drier and more reactive.

What I later learned:
🌿 Dry inflamed skin often starts with dryness, a sensitive nervous system, and variable appetite
🌿 That instability then triggers heat and inflammation in digestion
🌿 And spice choices can calm or aggravate this pattern

This carousel is Secret #19 from my 20 Habits for Dry Inflamed Skin series —
how to use spices as digestive medicine without drying or overheating your skin.

✨ Steady digestion = calmer skin.

Not all dairy is bad —
but not all dairy is good for your skin either.

The difference isn’t willpower.
It’s type, amount, and timing.

👉 Swipe through the carousel to learn
• which kinds of dairy support dry inflamed skin
• which types often worsen redness and breakouts
• and when it’s better to pause dairy altogether

When digestion is stressed, even “healthy” foods can create irritation that shows up on the skin. Sometimes the most healing step is to simplify, restore digestion, and rebuild slowly.

✨ Heal the gut → calm the skin.
