Why didn’t I know this 10 years ago…
when my skin was crazy dry, reactive, tight, and inflamed? 😣

Back then, I followed every wellness-guru tip —
👉 garlic for “detox”
👉 ginger for gas and bloating

But those tips did not work for my skin-body type.
They actually made my skin drier and more reactive.

What I later learned:
🌿 Dry inflamed skin often starts with dryness, a sensitive nervous system, and variable appetite
🌿 That instability then triggers heat and inflammation in digestion
🌿 And spice choices can calm or aggravate this pattern

This carousel is Secret #19 from my 20 Habits for Dry Inflamed Skin series —
how to use spices as digestive medicine without drying or overheating your skin.

✨ Steady digestion = calmer skin.

Not all dairy is bad —
but not all dairy is good for your skin either.

The difference isn’t willpower.
It’s type, amount, and timing.

• which kinds of dairy support dry inflamed skin
• which types often worsen redness and breakouts
• and when it’s better to pause dairy altogether

When digestion is stressed, even “healthy” foods can create irritation that shows up on the skin. Sometimes the most healing step is to simplify, restore digestion, and rebuild slowly.

✨ Heal the gut → calm the skin.

Fruits for Dry, inflamed skin ( Vata–Pitta skin) 🔥💨

• Vata brings dryness, roughness, sensitivity
• Pitta brings heat, redness, inflammation

To calm this skin type, we must protect the gut lining.

🍋 Sour taste (sour citrus, sour pineapple)
→ irritates the gut
→ increases heat and redness

🫐 Astringent taste (pomegranate, cranberries, unripe fruit)
→ dries the gut lining
→ worsens skin dryness and flares

That’s why sweet, ripe fruits are healing for dry inflamed skin —
they moisturize, cool, and nourish from the inside out.

✨ Skin follows the gut.

Secret #14 from my own routine for dry & inflamed skin 🤍
For years, fermented foods confused me.

I knew they were essential for digestion and gut health —
yet every time I ate them the “healthy way,” my stomach burned and my skin reacted.

Here’s what I learned.

Fermented foods have a sour taste, and sour taste:
• stimulates digestive fire
• helps break food into smaller particles
• triggers the production of digestive enzymes
• feeds different strains of gut bacteria

These bacteria perform very specific jobs:
– some help absorb iron
– others support vitamin B12 absorption
– others help build healthy protective mucus in the intestines

This is the old, traditional way of shaping a healthy microbiome — through food, not supplements.

⚠️ But here’s the problem for people with dry, inflamed, reactive skin:

If the gut lining is already irritated, too much sour food — or taking it on an empty stomach — can damage the lining instead of helping digestion.

That’s when fermentation backfires.

✨ What changed everything for me:
I never start a meal with fermented foods.
I begin with nourishing, grounding foods — warm grains, vegetables, healthy oils —
and add fermented foods in the middle of the meal, once the gut lining is protected.

This way the sour taste:
✔ supports digestion
✔ feeds beneficial bacteria
✔ without burning or irritating the gut

🍃 A very important detail:
I eat sauerkraut, but I do not eat kimchi.

Kimchi is not only sour — it is also spicy.
Sour + spicy is a powerful combination that aggravates inflammation and irritation when the gut lining is sensitive.

Gentle fermentation matters when inflammation is present.

This small timing shift made a big difference for my digestion — and eventually, for my skin.

Secret #12: The mistake that triggered years of skin flares
Probiotics after antibiotics always made my skin break out badly.
Only later I learned: my gut lining was too inflamed, too “leaky,” too reactive.
Even good bacteria felt dangerous to my body.
Today I heal the gut lining first — THEN add probiotics.
Game-changer for dry, inflamed skin. 💛

Follow me for tips and advice on skin, digestion, and the nervous system — and watch Secrets #9 and #10 to learn the first two phases of rebuilding the gut lining and resetting digestion.

Secret # 10
For years I lived with dry irritated skin, random red patches, constant bloating, and a feeling that food just sat in my stomach.

I tried so many things… but nothing worked long-term.
Because the real root was hidden deeper.

👉 My bile flow was sluggish, something that runs in my family.
And when bile doesn’t move, the small intestine becomes too acidic, the lining gets irritated, and inflammation shows up… on the skin.

This is why Phase 2 of my Digestive Reset was such a turning point for me.
But I didn’t start here.

I first spent time strengthening my gut lining (Phase 1), because only a stable, soothed lining can handle moving old, sticky, more toxic bile.

Once I entered Phase 2, everything started to shift:

✔ less bloating
✔ gas disappeared
✔ meals felt lighter
✔ skin started calming down

And this phase is actually very gentle — no harsh detoxes, no aggressive herbs.

It’s based on 3 principles:
oil + bitter taste + warm cooked meals.

In the carousel I walk you through:
✨ the bitter ghee I used
✨ the liver herbs that helped me
✨ why cooked greens with every meal are essential
✨ CCF tea with meals
✨ simple meals that wake up digestion
✨ belly massage + morning exercises for bile flow

This is one of the most underestimated steps in skin healing, especially for dry, inflamed, reactive skin types.

If you want the exact bitter ghee + herbs I personally used,
comment “BILE” and I’ll send you the links.

Your digestion — and your skin — deserve this support. 💛

Secret 8:
When my skin used to feel dry, tight, and inflamed, I realized something big…
the ingredients I was using were either helping me heal or keeping me stuck.

So I switched to gentle, natural botanicals — and my skin finally started to calm down.

Here are the ones I trust the most:
🌿 Manjistha — my niacinamide twin for bright, even skin
🌿 Aloe Vera + Licorice — deep hydration that feels like hyaluronic acid
🌿 Bakuchi Oil — natural Vitamin A for smoother texture
🌿 Gotu Kola — collagen + nervous system calm (my favorite combo)
🌿 Amalaki — natural Vitamin C to fade pigmentation
