This is Secret #5 out of my 20 habits for healing dry-inflamed skin.
Dry, inflamed, flaky patches? Burning eczema? I used to have all of that — until I learned that the REAL root cause was a Vata–Pitta imbalance in my gut, not just “sensitive skin.”

When dryness (Vata) and heat (Pitta) irritate the gut lining, it shows up on the skin.
Changing what and how I ate made my skin calmer, softer, and finally hydrated again.

In the carousel, I show the best food tastes and the worst ones for my skin type.

✨ I created a 10 Skin–Body Type system based on Ayurvedic holistic principles.
It helps you understand your natural tendencies — and from there, make the right changes in your diet, lifestyle, and topical care.

You’ve tried everything — skincare, peels, supplements — and acne still comes back.
That’s because your skin isn’t the problem… it’s the messenger.
When bile becomes thick or sluggish, your digestion weakens, your gut lining inflames, and your microbiome loses balance.
That inflammation travels — from the small intestine to the colon, from the gut to the skin.

Ayurveda (holistic medicine)  knew this 5,000 years ago.
Today, science calls it the gut–skin axis.
And the first step to clear skin is to restore bile flow.
✨ Herbs that support this process include Neem, Manjistha, Guggulu, and formulas like Kaishore Guggulu and Liver Cleanse.
Your skin is the mirror of your bile flow. 💚

Feeling overheated, irritated, or have inflamed skin? This Weird-Looking Breath = Instant Chill
This cooling breath (Sheetali or Sheetkari Pranayama) is an ancient Ayurvedic technique to calm heat in the body and mind. 🌬️❄️

Here is the Sheetali breathing technique:
Roll your tongue into a tube, Inhale slowly through the tongue, close mouth, exhale through the nose.

It’s especially helpful for:
🔥 Acne & rosacea flares
🌡️ Hot flashes or perimenopause
😤 Anger, stress & emotional heat
🧖‍♀️ Inflammatory skin conditions

👉 Just 2-5 minutes a day can make a huge difference.
✨ Your nervous system resets. Your skin gets calmer.
🌿 Ayurveda knows how to cool from within.
Have you tried this before?

She blamed her skin for being unhappy, for not having a boyfriend, for always hiding in the shadows.
Why did other girls have beautiful skin while hers broke out at the smallest thing?
Countless sleepless nights thinking about it.
Five years. Thousands of dollars spent.
She could have gone on a luxury vacation instead.
This was Marisa’s story when we first met.
I explained to her — it was a vicious cycle.
Stress and lack of sleep kept her cortisol high, which disrupted her digestion.
Her stomach acid was weak, bile flow sluggish, and her gut environment became unfavorable for healthy bacteria.
So to heal her skin, we had to start with her stress, her sleep, and her digestion.
I guided Marisa to first add foods that soothe and rebuild the gut lining.
Then, we worked on improving bile flow — and only after that, on restoring a balanced microbiome.

Topically, I advised her to stop using aggressive serums like retinol and benzoyl peroxide so her skin barrier could repair.
Because when the barrier is strong, bacteria can’t invade and create chaos.

including her main symptoms, root causes, and the exact Ayurvedic plan that brought her skin back to balance.

WTH?! Stretch marks… but I didn’t even gain weight 😩
If that’s you — you’re so not alone.
Sometimes stretch marks have nothing to do with weight — they show up when stress and cortisol run the show.
When your mind’s racing, your skin’s drying and even tearing inside.

Here’s what actually helps calm the inside so your skin can heal:
✨ Warm self-massage with oil cooked with Ashwagandha, Bala, Passion Flower, Skullcap (herbs that rebuild nerve strength and soften stress)
🌙 Gradually move bedtime earlier — 10 minutes every few days until you reach 10 PM
💜 Rub a little lavender or vetiver on your palms before bed and breathe it in
💨 Try Alternate-Nostril Breathing (Anuloma Viloma) in the evening — inhale left, exhale right, then reverse — it balances your nervous system
🥣 Nourish yourself with warm meals, ghee, nuts, seeds— your skin needs comfort, not chaos
Stretch marks don’t mean your body’s broken — they mean it’s asking for calm, rest, and steady care. 💗
💾 Save this post for when stress hits your skin.
💬 Comment “Sleep” and I’ll send you my Ayurvedic Sleep Guide with 14 simple tips for calmer nights and stronger skin. 🌙

I found this very interesting!
When I first learned that in Sanskrit,
the same word means both oil and love — Sneha —
I was amazed.
But after years of working with clients with Vata imbalance — dry skin, anxiety, insomnia, constipation —
it started to make deep sense.
💛 Vata doesn’t just need hydration — it needs affection.
Oiling the body daily is not vanity — it’s nourishment, safety, and self-love in action.
In Ayurveda, applying oil (Abhyanga) calms the nervous system, grounds the mind, and reconnects you to your body.
It’s a reminder: You are safe. You are loved.
✨ For dry, anxious Vata: use oils cooked with Ashwagandha, Bala, Shatavari, or Licorice.
✨ For Vata-Pitta (dry + inflamed): choose oils with Manjistha and Gotu Kola.

Do it daily — especially in cold, windy, or stressful times.
You’ll notice not only softer skin… but a softer heart. 🤍

✨ Comment “VATA” to get a link for a nourishing oil infused with Ashwagandha, Bala, Shatavari, or Licorice — perfect if you struggle with dryness, restlessness, or sleep issues.

🔥 Comment “PITTA” to get a link for a cooling oil with Manjistha and Gotu Kola — ideal if you experience excess heat or inflammation in the body.
