Our office is moving May 1!

The new location is *very* close by… less than a quarter mile! It will be a part of Inspire Suites and basically just a quick hop over, right between the Planet Fitness and Domino’s Pizza in Nazareth Plaza.

For May, at least, I will still have the space at Nicki B’s Salon, so if you have back-to-back appointments scheduled there or simply prefer that location, no worries at all. Everything will still flow smoothly.

Appointments will continue as normal, and I’ll send updated details before your session!

While the Nazareth suites are not quite finished, I have some photos from their NJ location to give you an idea of how it will look!

We are excited to welcome you into the new space once it’s ready!

I am officially providing chair massage for St. Luke’s employees as part of their wellness program! Today, I’ve been enjoying the view of southside Bethlehem and also the self care content where I am set up in the break room 😊

I couldn’t sleep last night and I know that looking at a screen doesn’t help 😅 but Anna Akana’s videos are pretty entertaining!

I love how she breaks down and summarizes research studies on the brain, behavior, and self-awareness in a fun way.

This one is just a short video about the window of tolerance and how the nervous system responses to stress.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to share it but then at the end, she mentions massage therapy as something that helps her feel grounded in her body and I was like… ok perfect, this is very relatable!

I think it can be so helpful to notice what state our body is in, be able to give it a name, and work with it instead of criticizing ourselves!

I have a number of exciting updates in the next few months. To start off I’ve changed my business name to Longview Massage and Bodywork!

A lot of people have been asking why and for one thing, it reflects the way I think about massage and care, not just as a one time service, but something that to support your body over time. It’s about looking at the bigger picture and helping you feel better and more lasting, sustainable way. It considers your history, your goals and what your body needs.

I have definitely been wanting a title beyond just my own name – something that creates space for the business to grow while still staying grounded in what matters to me.

It also reflects how I hope to run this business. Even as a small practice, I want to be ethical and fair. Should the business expand, I want any future employees to have massage as a sustainable career, with proper support and pay. Massage therapy is often under paid, which can push therapists to overwork, and even be forced to switch careers due to injuries, not to mention it makes starting their own business extremely challenging as well. Longview isn’t just about your care; it’s about creating a space where everyone involved is treated well and can grow.

For now, the space is one that is shared between three independent LMT‘s. We are expanding locations soon and I just started a new training too, but more on that soon!!

Jesilyn has appointment openings this Thursday from 3–4 PM, as well as earlier in the day - if you’ve been thinking about booking - now’s a great time!

In addition to customized massage sessions, Jesilyn is also a Reiki practitioner, offering deeply supportive and intuitive work.

And a quick note - I’m genuinely excited when my colleagues get new bookings, so please don’t feel awkward about trying another therapist even if you’ve been booking with me regularly. Had a great time at a continuing education class on pin and stretch with Jim Earley! It is a technique focused on muscle release, improving mobility, and supporting muscle function. I snapped a couple photos of him in action and some of my fellow grads from Northampton Community College’s massage therapy program!

Some things I enjoy about continuing education classes - comfy clothes, hands-on learning, and everyone getting to receive some bodywork. I definitely need to practice the technique more, but I can already see how useful it will be to incorporate into sessions.

It’s always a boost to keep learning and connecting with the massage therapy community!
