We had a very busy and engaging day in preschool today! Imaginations were truly flourishing throughout the classroom.

Our dramatic play area transformed into a doctor’s office, where Doctors Claire, Amiyah, Mila, Gwen,Verna and Paicyn took on the roles of OBGYNs and pediatricians. Many “babies” came through the clinic, and each one was carefully examined and successfully treated. It was wonderful to see the children collaborating, communicating, and using their creativity in such meaningful play.

In another area of the room, a group of superheroes dressed in capes worked together to “save the world,” rescuing one cat from a tree at a time. Their cooperative play and problem-solving skills were on full display.

During small group time, we explored color theory by painting and mixing primary colors to create secondary colors. The children enjoyed observing the changes and making predictions about what new colors would appear.

We also had an important conversation about feelings. We talked about what prayer is and how we can ask God to help us when we feel scared or sad. As a class, we prayed for Gwen’s cat who recently passed away, showing compassion and care for one another.

Our obstacle course incorporated alphabet recognition, as children searched for letters along the way. In addition, we created color patterns and played “I Spy” in the sensory table, strengthening early math and observation skills.

Everyone enjoyed lunch and is now resting peacefully. This afternoon, we plan to spend the remainder of our day outside. If you arrive later, you will find us outdoors enjoying the fresh air.

Happy Thursday!

Our Pre-K friends are hard at work building fine motor skills and independence as they practice cutting their own fruits and veggies. Learning through hands-on experiences makes every bite (and cut!) a little sweeter 🥕🥒🍎

Today our friends explored colors and fine motor skills through open-ended art. Using markers and a big sheet of paper, they practiced hand-eye coordination, creativity, and self-expression. There’s no right or wrong in art—just learning, exploring, and having fun! 🖍️✨

In just ten minutes you and your child can make a picture grocery list. Using store flyers you receive in the mail or can find at the grocery store, sit down with your child and talk about the things you will need purchase on your next food shopping trip.

If your child is old enough to use scissors, help them cut out pictures of needed items and glue them to a piece of paper. You will enjoy another shared experience when you take your child grocery shopping with you, list in hand! Plan extra time to allow your shopping helper to find the items from the list. Show them how to check each purchase off their list with a marker once you have placed them in your cart!
