This year also marked a huge milestone for TheraSPACE with the opening of our third clinic location in Lumberton on 12/1. We’re thankful for our growth, our team, and the communities we serve—and can’t wait to see what 2026 brings!

October is AAC Awareness Month! 🗣️💡

AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. It includes a wide range of tools and strategies that help people communicate when speaking is difficult.

Picture boards or communication books 📖

Speech-generating devices or tablets 📱

Communication apps 💻

Gestures, sign language, or symbols 🤟

AAC is not just for children—it can support people of all ages with conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, apraxia of speech, stroke, and more.

AAC does not stop someone from developing speech—it often encourages it!

AAC gives individuals a way to express themselves, reducing frustration and increasing confidence.

Communication is a basic human right, and AAC ensures that everyone has a voice.
