Here's something you might not know about me. It changed course of my life and is a BIG reason I'm committed to paying it forward. I grew up in small town Brillion, about 25 miles east of Neenah. I was very active in sports throughout elementary and junior high, once I reached high school, I took a keen liking to football and basketball. I wasn’t a regular in the chiropractic office when I was playing.

However, knowing what I know now, I wish I had been after sustaining my fair share of injuries (including a career ending knee injury my senior year of high school).

My introduction into the world of chiropractic wasn’t due to my injuries, but my mom’s.

After a varsity football game, my mom followed the bus home like every other Friday night. Things took a turn when she was T-boned and was left bruised and battered, but ok. That was until the next day, she couldn’t move, stand, and even laying was painful.

Countless therapies and surgical consults revealed that a surgical spinal stimulator was her best option.

In my mom’s own words, she didn’t want a battery in her back to be pain free and to be “normal.” Enter Dr. Grant O’ Brien. She was referred to Align Chiropractic to help with her pain management.

At the time, I was just tagging along for some of the visits, little did I know this would spark the interest that would lead me to choosing my career.

I was unknowingly shadowing Dr. Grant and further growing interest in the profession. Fast forward 7 years and way too many years of schooling, I received a call from Dr. Grant asking if I would like to team up with him and his partner in crime, Dr. Alyssa, at Align Chiropractic.

The answer came quick and just like that I found myself back in a small town in Wisconsin, helping those, just like my mother. I have seen first hand how the power of chiropractic not only impacts the patient themselves, but their loved ones as well.

I grew up in a small town in central Wisconsin, where sports were a big part of my life—and so was chiropractic care. As an active athlete, I spent plenty of time in our local chiropractor’s office. One experience in particular left a lasting impression on me. During a hockey game, I took a significant hit to the head that left me unable to skate off the ice without repeatedly falling.

In the days that followed, I developed persistent headaches, arm pain from a stinger, light sensitivity, extreme fatigue, and a general sense that I just wasn’t myself. My mother brought me to a local chiropractor who had extensive experience working with athletes.

After six to eight adjustments over the course of four weeks, I was back on the ice—feeling better than I had even before the injury!

That experience had a profound impact on me and played a major role in my decision to pursue chiropractic care as a career. After completing my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, I went on to attend chiropractic college, where I also met my wife, Dr. Alyssa.

Following graduation, we chose to open our own practice in Neenah, Wisconsin, drawn by the close proximity to both of our families and the communities that shaped us. Neenah has truly become home. We are proud parents of three amazing children, and our practice reflects the same values we hold as a family.

Our office is centered around family-focused, personalized chiropractic care, with a mission to help as many individuals and families in our community as possible.

As we begin our 16th year serving Neenah, I continue to find great fulfillment in caring for patients of all ages and supporting many local athletes on their journey to optimal health. The office has over 120 positive reviews from local patients!
