From Sparkling floors to smiling faces, you did it all! Congratulations to one of our housekeepers, Karen. Today was her last day before retirement after 10 years of service at Island Shores. Thank you for the care you put into making our community shine! Enjoy this exciting new journey! Today we had Cake and Coffee in Karen's honor. Karen will be greatly missed, and we wish her a very happy retirement full of family, travel and anything else she wishes for! Pictured is Karen with the cake we served and also a portion of our Housekeeping Team, along with Kevin, our Environmental Services Director.

What a wonderful day of fun, friendly competition, and cheering one another on! Our residents enjoyed an exciting Shuffleboard Championship game last Friday. The game was filled with great shots, laughter, and lots of smiles.
Congratulations to all our players for their teamwork and sportsmanship, and a special round of applause to Dave and Sharon, our Winter Shuffleboard Champions.
We will start a new Shuffleboard tournament in January.

We had a holly-jolly time at Cookies and Cocoa with Santa! Residents enjoyed sweet treats, warm cocoa, and plenty of toe tapping tunes led by Live Music by Danville Folk. Moments like these make the season extra special! Here are a few photos from the event.

Island Shores is sparkling with holiday cheer as we decorate for the Christmas season! From twinkling lights to cozy wreaths and festive trees, every corner is starting to shine a little brighter! A big Thank You to our Volunteers from Community First Credit Union for coming in this week to help us trim the trees!

Well, winter is here! We woke up to a light dusting of snow yesterday at Island Shores. Here are a few photos of some of the areas outdoors, also a few photos of our festive Christmas Village. Resident Sandy and her family set up her Christmas Village, it always makes our lobby so homey! It definitely makes Island Shores have a Holiday Feel! Christmas Trees and other holiday decorations will be decorating the halls by next week. We think this is one of the most magical times of the year!

What a wonderful Veterans Day we had! The day started with a special Veterans Breakfast, and we finished the day with a program in the afternoon which we hosted along with the help of Unity Hospice and the American Legion complete with a gun salute. We proudly salute the brave men and women who have served our country. Your courage, dedication, and sacrifice have shaped the freedoms we cherish every day. Thank you for your service today and always!

Big Shout Out to our Caregiver Monica who was able to get us lots of pumpkins to decorate Island Shores. We had a staff pumpkin decorating competition and the residents will get to choose the winner of this contest later today at our Halloween Bash. Thank You Monica!

What a joyful afternoon! Our residents were all smiles as Glen Navis filled the room with music, laughter, and memories. From Toe-Tapping tunes to heartfelt songs, each song request was made by one of the residents who attended the performance! It was a fun afternoon filled with connection and joy!

Big congrats to our shuffleboard champions Chuck and Marlene! The competition was tough, but you came out on top and showed some serious skill. Thank you to everyone who played, cheered, and made our tournament so much fun! Until next time…keep those pucks sliding! Pictured are the two finalist teams and the reigning champions. Get ready to get those pucks going! We start another tournament next week and meet this week to set up teams. See you then!
