Mark and Mindi have adopted five children at birth. Four of their children have special medical needs and complex care.
Their four-year-old son, Isaac, has Down syndrome, and he is in renal failure.
Isaac has been put on the transplant list. On August 12, someone donated their kidney in Isaac's name. He now has a "voucher" for his new kidney, when the transplant is about to happen.
Mark and Mindi live 90 miles from the hospital. Mark works the overnight shift and will be taking Family Medical Leave, which means he keeps his job but does not get paid.
Because someone has to be with their one-year-old son 24/7 and they want someone to be with Isaac at the hospital, they are hoping to raise some funds to help them in this long journey. Unfortunately, with no family nearby and very few friends who can take care of the other children, this is really the best option for them.
A little about their other children:
Tess, 11 years old, has CHARGE syndrome, is deaf, has a feeding tube, and had a thymus transplant.
Adam, 9 years old, is neurotypical.
Quinn, 7 years old, has Down syndrome.
Levon, 1 year old, has Goldenhar Syndrome, is trach dependent, is deaf, and has a G-tube.
Any and all money raised will aid in the help of gas, food, and any other expenses incurred during the transplant journey.

This link will send you to a site where you can see if you would be a suitable donor. If you aren't a match for Isaac Piasecki, there is someone out there (way too many someone's) who could benefit from a kidney transplant. And if you mention Isaac Piasecki, dob 1/28/21, in your application, Isaac gets moved up on the list even if you aren't a match.

I know it's a lot, a LOT lot, to ask.
If you cannot or don't want to donate, could you keep this family in your thoughts and prayers? They have a lot going on right now.
Their 11-year-old daughter is going to need open heart surgery probably this year. She had CHARGE syndrome, is deaf, has a feeding tube and has had a thymus transplant.
Their 8-year-old son is in the middle of getting braces and eyeglasses.
Their 6-year-old daughter, who has Down syndrome, was just fitted with eyeglasses and is needing speech and feeding therapy to help her eat solids.
Then there is 4 year old Isaac, who has Down syndrome, is in renal failure and has chronic lung disease.
One year old Levon has a trach, a feeding tube, is on all sorts of monitors and alarms, and is deaf. He is booked for one surgery so far this year and will probably have more to come.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this lengthy description of the Piasecki family. They appreciate you!
People have been asking how else they can help the family. They do have a registry set up for Isaac and Mindi when they have to live in Milwaukee for three months, in isolation.

Prayers. Patience. Help with the kids. Restaurant and food cards (Mark doesn't cook and Mindi will be away for months). Good vibes. Some more patience, as they are dealing with a lot. Meal trains. Healing thoughts and good juju.
Thank you.
