Last week, I joined a great team of chaplains volunteering at Camp 🏕️ Magruder in Rockaway Beach. Caring for the children, honoring creation, and experiencing the deep love of Creator together is wonderful! I highly recommend a visit to this sacred place! During a renewal walk along a wetland trail 👣, I had a deeply spiritual experience.
Communing with the plants and trees, I was feeling the freshly fallen rain 🌧️ water wicking into my clothes and was giving thanks for the refreshment that the waters from the sky provided. As I rounded the bend, suddenly I was only a few feet away from a young eagle 🦅 perched on the bridge. Our baby kicked at that moment, and my whole being tingled. I was awestruck. 🥹 Such majestic beauty!!! And the height was overwhelming - no less than my entire torso and head in this bird before me…
Gently I raised my phone to snap a photo, but the screen was black. So curious 👀. Not until I asked permission of this being was I allowed to have the phone unlock. 🔓 Baby kicked again. Something inside me said this is a spiritual guide for our little one. So, this picture is received, and shared, with deep gratitude 🙏🏾 and awe 💖.
