After a season of change, children don’t instantly feel steady.

Their bodies are still catching up.

You might notice:
More sensitivity
Big reactions to small moments
Difficulty settling into routines

What looks like a step back is often a child settling into something new.
Children are learning how to hold all that change inside them.
They need space and support to settle.

Children thrive when the adults around them move together.

Pediatricians. Therapists. Teachers. Caregivers. Social workers.
Each one sees a different piece of the child’s world.
When those pieces come together, something powerful happens.
Emotional health and physical health begin to support each other.

Children feel safer. More understood. More steady.
And from there, they grow.

We’re grateful for every professional who shows up for children and families with care, collaboration, and heart.

Healing unfolds through small, brave moments.

A child uses a word instead of a shove.
A child pauses before reacting.
A child returns after pulling away.

Those moments matter.

Spring can wake everything up.

More movement.
More emotion.
More intensity.

Children need guidance to channel that energy safely.
Play gives their bodies somewhere to put it.

Resilience grows in moments of repair.
“I’m sorry I yelled. I felt overwhelmed. It wasn’t okay. Let’s try that again.”

When adults model repair, children learn something powerful:
Mistakes don’t end connection.
Relationships can bend without breaking.
That lesson stays with them.

March is Social Work Month.

We’re grateful for social workers everywhere who show up for children and families during life’s hardest moments.

At The Healing Playroom, we’re especially thankful for the social workers on our own team who help create spaces where children feel safe enough to express big feelings and begin to heal.

This work often looks quiet from the outside.
It’s steady presence.
It’s careful listening.
It’s helping children find their footing again.
That work matters.

A child can be growing and still struggle.

A calm week can be followed by a loud afternoon.
Development is not a straight line.
What matters most is whether your child feels safe enough to keep growing.

At The Healing Playroom, we believe children heal through connection, safety, and play. Every day we see what becomes possible when a child has a space where their feelings are understood and their story matters.

As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for a compassionate therapist who feels called to support children and families through the power of play therapy.

• At least 10 hours of APT-approved play therapy training (graduate course or CE)
• Licensed in Florida or actively working toward licensure as a mental health professional
• Working toward or holding the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential

If this work speaks to you, please send:

Spring energy can feel big.

They can also bring restlessness, shorter tempers, and emotional spikes.

Children feel seasonal shifts in their bodies before they understand them in their minds.

If your child feels “extra” lately, their nervous system may be adjusting to change.

Growth rarely looks polished.

It often shows up as tears before words, trying again after a hard day, and small progress you might almost miss.

Children build resilience when their bodies feel calm and safe.

When children feel steady in their bodies, they can try again after frustration. They can handle disappointment. They can repair after mistakes.

Strength grows from safety.
