February is National Children’s Dental Health Month! 🦷✨
It’s the perfect time to focus on foods that help keep little smiles strong and healthy. Crunchy fruits and vegetables like apples and carrots can help naturally clean teeth, while dairy products such as milk, cheese, and yogurt provide calcium to strengthen enamel. Leafy greens, eggs, and nuts also supply important nutrients that support healthy teeth and gums.
Choosing tooth-friendly foods, limiting sugary snacks and drinks, and keeping up with regular dental visits can help children build healthy habits — and bright smiles — that last a lifetime.
If you or your child needs a dental appointment, call 732-363-6655 or visit www.OHINJ.org to schedule today!

Try to avoid:
• Too much salt and processed foods
• Smoking and excessive alcohol
• A sedentary lifestyle
• Ongoing stress without healthy coping strategies
Do this instead:
• Eat more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
• Stay active with regular movement
• Drink plenty of water
• Manage stress and get enough sleep
• Keep up with regular blood pressure checks
Small changes can make a big difference for your heart.

In honor of Black History Month, we’re recognizing Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, a trailblazer in American medicine.
In 1864, Dr. Crumpler became the first Black woman in the United States to earn a medical degree. She dedicated her life to caring for women, children, and formerly enslaved individuals who had little to no access to healthcare. Her compassion, determination, and commitment to serving underserved communities helped pave the way for future generations in medicine.
This month, we celebrate her legacy and the many Black healthcare pioneers who continue to make a difference every day.
