This is amazing for NTEMS!

We are ecstatic to announce NTEMS has been awarded our National Association of EMTs (NAEMT) Training Center certification. What does this mean? We may now host NAEMT classes such as PHTLS/TECC, Breaking Bad News, Mental Health Resilience Officer, EMS Safety and more. We currently have several instructors and plan on certifying more. We would like to thank and recognize Paramedic/Supervisor Tim Kortenhaus and EMT/Instructor Mat Giachetti for their tireless efforts in getting our agency to this point. Well done gents!

Neptune First Aid Squad lost someone special to many in 2025, William “Drew” Schunk. His family set a goal and worked hard to have this vision come to life and I am so proud to pass this information along.

On behalf of Drew’s family, I would like to announce that the William Drew Schunk ROTC Memorial Scholarship has officially been created at Drew’s (and his family’s) alma mater, Neptune High School.

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the legacy that Drew created through his tireless dedication to serving his community, his distinguished and decorated career with the FBI, and above all - his dedication to his family, most especially to his beautiful children.

Beginning in 2026, the Foundation, in coordination with Neptune High School, will annually be funding two scholarships; one college based and one trade school based.

Please share this scholarship opportunity with the Neptune High School community and encourage 2026 graduates to speak to their guidance counselor regarding this opportunity.

During a special ceremony on October 9th, Captain Melanie Manning was recognized by the New Jersey Senate and General Assembly as a hometown hero.

Captain Manning started her volunteer career in 2014 with Neptune First Aid Squad. Raising from Sergeant in 2016 to Captain for the past 6 years, her dedication is unmatched.

Thank you and congratulations Captain Melanie Manning for all you do for the Township of Neptune. 👏🏼

Roberta Grace was a very loved friend to all of us at Neptune First Aid. Her husband Bobby Grace was a life long member with us, and Roberta became part of our family. Hearing about her passing left many people devastated. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers.

A big ✨CONGRATULATIONS✨ to our member James McLeod on graduating high school! James joined Neptune First Aid in 2024 as a cadet, and is now an active EMT with our organization.

James’s next goal is to become a Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN). James shows much passion in the medical field and helping the community. We wish James the best of luck for his future endeavors!

This weekend, Neptune First Aid along with other Neptune volunteer agencies, staffed the annual Neptune Soccer Association Soccer Tournament; with this one being extra special as it is the 50th Anniversary. This is an event that our squad loves staffing each and every year!

Thank you to the Red Cross for bringing in some wonderful therapy dogs to join us for our meeting tonight.

The Red Cross has a Dog Therapy team that is readily available for different circumstances, including any crisis, stressful incidents or debriefings, a death of a coworker or of families, and many more events.

These sweet pups brought much needed love to our volunteers tonight. Thank you Red Cross!
