There are 2 types of belly fat.

Visceral fat sits deeper in the abdomen, surrounding your organs. Subcutaneous fat sits just under the skin — the “pinchable” kind.
Generally, if someone has more subcutaneous fat, they’ll also have more visceral fat — but not always.
Some people look lean on the outside and still carry higher visceral fat internally.
To be clear: there’s nothing wrong with having some belly fat. In many cultures, a little softness is normal and desirable.
But where you store fat can influence health markers like insulin sensitivity and cardiovascular risk.
If reducing belly fat is your goal, the answer isn’t 1,000 crunches.
It’s behavior change.
