N-fixing biologicals are quickly becoming a bigger part of farming. This survey says 75% of farmers have an interest in trying them. This year is our 4th year having Pivotbio on our farm, and our 3rd year selling it. Our current corn product fixes 40 pounds of nitrogen and our milo product fixes 25 pounds per acre, with higher amounts in the product pipeline. This year with high nitrogen prices, our customers were able to save 25-50 cents a pound compared to synthetic nitrogen. We also went from placing it on about 3,000 acres last year to over 20,000 acres this year. Many of our customers tried 40-80 acres last year and went whole farm this year. Across that many acres the savings are huge. If you’re interested in trying pivotbio, talk to us, or talk to a neighbor. Chances are they are giving it a try.

This is a live microbe that is allowing your corn/milo roots to fix some nitrogen just like we can do with legumes.
