In victim mode, life is happening TO you. You're problem-focused, you blame, complain, and frame everyone else. There's no accountability, no responsibility taken.

But you can shift out of it! You can move from victim to creator, from feeling powerless to recognizing your agency. These three questions create that shift:

1️⃣ WHAT DO I WANT OR NEED RIGHT NOW?

When you're stuck complaining and blaming, you're focused entirely on the problem. This question interrupts that pattern and shifts your focus to what you actually desire. You can't be in victim mode and solution mode simultaneously. Asking what you want activates your creative mind, gets you thinking about possibilities instead of spinning in what's wrong. It moves you from reactive to responsive.

2️⃣ WHAT'S THE NEXT SMALL STEP I CAN TAKE?

Victim mode makes everything feel massive, overwhelming, bigger than life. When problems feel that big, your brain shuts down and looks for someone to rescue you. This question breaks overwhelm into bite-sized action. It restores momentum AND gives you agency. Even taking a breath is a step. Small action proves to your system that you can move, that you're not powerless, that you have choice.

3️⃣ HOW IS THIS SUPPORTING MY ALIGNED VALUES?

This connects difficult situations to what you actually care about. When you can see how a challenge relates to your deepest values, it stops being an obstacle. You start to recognize how it's guiding you, forging you, shaping you toward what matters most. It shifts your perception from "this is in my way" to "this is on my way." You see the hidden order, the upside you've been missing while stuck in one-sided perception.

Even if it's not intentional, you're already practicing something. When you catastrophize, you're training your brain. When you doom scroll for an hour, you're training your body. When you're shallow breathing all day, you're telling your system to stay on high alert.

♻️😵‍💫 Whatever you focus on generates a state, that state downloads into your physiology, your physiology then creates behaviors that keep the loop going.

We're living through a moment of collective stress. Global uncertainty. Institutional breakdown. Social friction. The headlines are heavy. The future feels unclear. And our nervous systems are absorbing all of it. ⚡️🧠📺📰🏙️📣👨🏻‍💼

Most of us are walking around in chronic sympathetic dominance, our primitive brain taking over, seeing every headline and notification as a threat. We're stuck in the limbic system, operating from survival mode rather than our full human capacity. 🪫🪫🪫

⚖️💕 While we can't control the external chaos, we can shift our internal state. We can move from stress response into coherence, that state where mind, body, and nervous system come into alignment. Where the two hemispheres of the brain communicate. Where we drop out of beta into alpha. Where we remember we're not separate from the field of support that surrounds us.

🙏🏼 We've found that one of the most powerful gateways to coherence is gratitude. Gratitude creates a frequency, and it's the highest frequency we can attune to as human beings. This is where gratitude becomes technology, where your heart is the portal, the Earth is your support system, and presence is the key that opens the door. 🚪🗝️💫✨

Our last EDGU training felt like a homecoming. There’s nothing quite like returning to the land where this practice first came alive. 🏔️🌊🌲✨

🌱 Every time we bring people into EDGU here, the land itself seems to rise up in support; the forest, the waters, the air carrying us deeper into the movement. It’s always humbling, always powerful, to stand in the birthplace of a practice that has carried so much healing through the years. 👣❤️🌿

📜 We’re honored to hold this lineage and to share it with others. EDGU has changed our lives, and every time we teach, we watch it change lives around us.
