🧘Meditation is a process that involves seeking positively to attune oneself with the subtle vibrations of the Infinite.

Like an astronomer bringing his telescope into careful focus on a distant planet—or like someone tuning a radio sensitively to one station while filtering out nearby interference—the beginning yogi must bring all his faculties to bear on the thought of God or one of His attributes. 🪐

📻The rules of yama are a necessary preliminary to this attunement, just as that first sighting through the telescope or the initial turn of the radio dial helps guide us toward the correct wavelength.
In many ways, correct meditation requires a complete revolution in what are commonly looked upon as normal human attitudes.

For example, a competitive drive in meditation can thwart even the most earnest efforts to progress, for it pits one against the universe instead of harmonizing him with it.

🌟Yogananda said, “All physical diseases, psychological inharmonies, and soul maladies born of ignorance come from man’s own mistake of shutting out the rays of God.”

Our intelligence, happiness, will, feelings, muscular strength, and the proper functioning of our organs and glands all depend on one source: the Life Force.
Billions of cells are sustained and guided by this subtle, intelligent power. 🕉️

The human body is surrounded by a halo of conscious Cosmic Energy, and through its vibrations, God’s intelligence continuously supplies us with Life Force.

❤️‍🩹Thus, the key to healing is to correct this mistake—to open ourselves to the rays of God by using our free will to draw on the life force for our health and sustenance.

Yoga philosophy shows us that our thoughts, emotions, and actions are shaped by three universal forces — the gunas:

🌿 Sattva – clarity, harmony, upliftment
🔥 Rajas – restlessness, action, desire
🌑 Tamas – heaviness, inertia, darkness

The teachings yoga and meditation help us to consciously align with sattva, the quality that elevates our awareness and opens us to divine grace.

Each choice we make — every thought, every habit — can either cloud our consciousness or help it shine with light. The power of choice is in the present moment! There are no obstacles, only opportunities!🌞

“The secret of meditation is radiating blessings from your heart outward to all the world.” – Swami Kriyananda

This expansive secret of meditation helps us avoid the ego pitfall of meditating for the self and rather than for the Self.

When we meditate without this attitude of blessing others, we begin to revolve around ourselves the thoughts of, “my growth,” “my happiness, “my enlightenment,” reinforcing the opposite of what meditation is truly for: liberation from the sense of “I,” of ego, separation. ⭐️

🧘‍♀️🙏Inner stillness and devotion help us feel our divine connection with everyone. The desire to send blessings from your heart arises naturally as you deepen your meditation.

When you pray for others in this way, your consciousness naturally expands until you feel God’s love for all creation within you. 💕

🧘‍♀️⚡️One person in deep, inner communion radiating love and blessings does more good for the world than we can imagine.
