Healing Wave Watsu Therapy. Floating in 98 degrees water, your muscles will no longer need to suport you and your Empty stomach or light meal is recommended-

Watsu – Floating in 98 degrees water your muscles will no longer need to work and your system will not need to maintain body temperature on its own, thus bringing the first level of deep relaxation. All the while you will be held in a succession of opening stretches and contraction in a Tai Chi fashion, treated to nurturing cradling and releases with attention to shiatsu points and limp node centers to coerce your body closer to total relaxation. History and origins of the Watsu - In the early 1980s Harold Dull adapted Zen Shiatsu for use in warm water pools at Harbin Hot Springs in northern California, with emphasis on connecting with the breathing patterns of the receiver and establishing a meditative state during sessions. Dull observed that people receiving Watsu treatments entered a deep relaxation state, with strong physical and emotional effects. In the early years, massage therapists were the main practitioners of Watsu, offering sessions as a new category of aquatic therapy called aquatic bodywork. By the late 1980s and early 1990s, physical therapists and other healthcare providers began applying Watsu to treat diverse orthopedic and neurologic conditions. While Watsu's roots in Shiatsu and the close physical contact led to some early resistance among those trained in conventional healthcare, Watsu is now practiced in spas, clinics, and hospitals, and utilized as an aquatic rehabilitation technique. The Watsu session - Come as you would for a massage and you will be treated with the greatest attention and professionalism as it too promotes greater relaxation! The session is one hour but please plan ample extra time to ease in and out.

Watsu Therapy – Floating in 98 degrees water, your muscles will no longer need to support your weight and your system will no longer need to maintain body temperature on its own. This bring the first level of relaxation while activating the parasympathetic response - That is the body’s natural mechanism for healing and regeneration.
You will be held in a succession of stretches and rotations in a Tai Chi fashion punctuated with nurturing cradling and releases with attention to shiatsu points and limp node clearing. This will lead your body and mind to enter a very deep relaxation state. My training is in Watsu and massage therapy and I combine elements of both to help you body disconnect and re-establish clarity and balance.
