Don't let the (VERY) unseasonably warm weather fool you ... flu season is right around the corner.

Which is why it's a good thing that Story Medical Clinics in Nevada and Maxwell are offering flu, RSV, and COVID-19 vaccines for the 2025 season by appointment. Current patients are encouraged to schedule their vaccines as soon as possible by calling the Nevada Clinic at 515-382-5413 or the Maxwell Clinic at 515-387-8815.

Please join us in offering a sincere THANK YOU to all of our first responders for all they do in supporting our community. It takes a special kind of person to serve as a first responder and we are fortunate to have such a wonderful team at Story Medical.

We also salute the Story County Board of Supervisors for offering up a special proclamation to mark the date and recognize our team, along with first responders from fire, police and more.

Hey all you ghosts and ghouls ... get a headstart on the Halloween hi-jinx at Story Medical Senior Care!

Our Halloween parade offers treats for the kids and downright delight for our residents. The fun gets started at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at our NEW Senior Care located just south of the medical center.

We hope to see a big crowd!

Don’t forget!! This Thursday starting at 4:30pm, bring your kids out to Story Medical Senior Care for some trick or treating, before going downtown. Our folks would love to see your kids in their costumes!! 💀👻🎃💕

As part of our Monster Mash Health Bash community health fair, Story Medical teamed up with Central Elementary in Nevada for a Halloween-themed coloring contest—and these young artists did spooktacular work!

From preschool through fourth grade, students showed off their creativity while learning that staying healthy can be fun, too.

A big congratulations to all our winners—and thank you to Central Elementary for helping us celebrate health, happiness, and Halloween spirit in our community!

We had SO much fun at our Monster Mash Health Bash tonight! From a huge heart, to an actual heart, MRI fun, more candy than you could dream of and some spook-tacular swag—we had it all. A huge thanks to everyone who attended. We’ll see everybody next week at Main Street Nevada, IA’s Downtown Trick or Treat! 🎃 🍬

Last week, Story Medical joined the community at the Story County Mental Health Expo at Ames City Hall.

Victoria Trullinger, Kelsey Bracy, and Kennedy LaVille Thoren represented Story Medical, sharing resources and connecting with attendees about ways to support mental health and wellness.

It was a wonderful evening focused on mindfulness, connection, and reducing stigma around mental health!
