Jerry Paul Cook

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jerry Paul Cook, age 74, of Hickory Flat, MS, transitioned to his eternal home from hospice at North Mississippi Medical Center on March 4, 2026. Surrounded by his wife, children, grand and great grandchildren.

He was born on December 23, 1951, to Tony Elwood and Mary Glenn Jones Cook. He was a gentle, humble and a devoted husband, daddy/Pawpaw. He was married to his sweetheart, Peggy Cook of 56 years, He was a hard worker in logging from an early age, he was well known for his hard work and determination to provide for his family. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, or just being outside in general and spending time with family where his presence was the heart of every gathering.

Jerry was never one to be very talkative or one to seek the spotlight but to his family he was more than a spotlight, he was the center of their world. To his family he was the best man on earth, a loving husband, a perfect daddy and pawpaw who always made time to teach, guide, protect, provide and spend time together with his grandbabies. He took immense pride in his children and grandchildren achievements.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Cook, his children Tony Cook (Leigh) of Randolph, Teri Sharp (Ron) of Hickory Flat, Allen Lewis (Amanda) of Ripley, Erica Courson (Shannon) Nicole Lewis (Robby) of Hickory Flat. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, Grayce, Rojay, Makenzie, Hunter, Lucas, Maddie, Peyton, Gabbie, Dakota, Camila, Grayson, Reagan, Gabe, Tyler and Drake and 5 great-grandchildren, Natalee, Paislee, Aislee, Iyla, and Navi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tony Elwood and Mary Glenn Jones Cook, brothers Ralph Bridges, Harvey Cook, James Cook, Richard Cook, Michael Cook, sisters Betty Starling, and Martha Bolden.

Jerry's life will be celebrated with friends and family with a visitation on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, MS. A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 12:00 PM in the chapel at Glenfield Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow in Bluff Spring Cemetery in Ashland; MS. Bishop Steve Wilson will be officiating the service.

Pallbearers will be Justin Cook, Jose Flores, Tony Flores, Johnathon Gadd, Jason Gadd, Brian Courson and Trey Flint. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Holmes, Chub Nolley, Ron Sharp, Robby Goolsby, Dakota Hawkins, Payton Aldridge, Rojay Hernandez, Shannon Courson, Hunter Courson, Tyler Courson, Drake Courson, Lucas Lewis and Gabe Shaw.

Kimberly Gullick Hutson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kimberly Gullick Hutson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on February 15, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on May 11, 1962, Kimberly lived a full and vibrant life grounded in love, creativity, and cherished connections.

In her years, Kimberly found joy in the simplest moments - from swimming and soaking up the sun by her daughter's pool to the comforting rhythm of crocheting. She loved games. She was often seen engaged in spirited games of Skip-Bo and Yahtzee with her family, where laughter echoed through the air and memories were made. Her love extended beyond her craft, as she savored long conversations on the phone with her daughter and her friends. She also found happiness singing songs that resonated with her spirit.

Kimberly was a proud mother to and survived by her daughter, Amber Gordon (Chad), and her son, Jeremy Roberts. She is survived by her stepmother, Shelby Gullick. She was a doting grandmother to her grandsons, Noah Ingle, Colton Gordon, and Jaxon Gordon, as well as her granddaughter, Keagan Roberts. She is also survived by her brother, Cody Gullick. Each of them carried a special place in her heart, and her legacy will live on in their lives.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her parents Jimmy Gullick, Peggy Speck Roberts, and grandson, Adam Roberts.

As we remember Kimberly, let us honor her and the love she so generously shared. Her warmth and laughter will forever resonate with those who knew her, reminding us to find joy in the little things.A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM at Glenfield Funeral Home. Following will be a celebration of life service at 2:00 PM in the Glenfield Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Glenfield Memorial Park in New Albany; MS. Bro. Chad Gordon will be officiating the service.

Pallbearers will be Noah Ingle, Colton Gordon, Jaxon Gordon, Nicholas Smithey, Houston Butler, Cayson Rodgers and Carter Rodgers.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Medlin Black, who left us on February 4, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on November 8, 1940, in New Albany, Mississippi, Betty was a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

A proud resident of New Albany, she embodied the vibrant spirit of her community. Betty's life was defined by her unwavering faith and love for reading her Bible, which was a guiding light throughout her journey. Her passion for the outdoors brought her joy, as did her delightful fascination with QVC, where she found treasures that always brought a smile.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Betty's life with visitation on Saturday, February 7, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, MS. Celebration of Life service following at 12:00 PM in the Glenfield Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Glenfield Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Kemont Thornton, Terry Hogue Jr., Craig Spencer, Jake Norwood, Mike Briggs and Brayden Briggs. The service will be officiated by Bubba Childress.

She leaves behind a legacy of love as she is survived by her three devoted daughters, Lynn Cobb (late Mike Cobb), Shari Briggs (Jeff), and Janet Decanter (Kevin), who will forever hold her in their hearts. She is also survived by her siblings, James Medlin, Billy Wayne Medlin (Alyne) and Mary Ann Brown. Betty was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Terry Hogue Jr. (Ashley Herod), Lauren Spencer (Craig), Benjamin Briggs (Jamie), Allison Thornton (Kemont), Emily Briggs, Courtney Norwood (Jake), Sarah Black, and Lessie Jo Black. Alongside her grandchildren, Betty is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joe Medlin Jr. and Jewel Medlin, her son Joseph Allen Black "Bud" and her husband Alvie Black Jr. In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorials to be made in Mrs. Betty's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Eunice Melba Young, a cherished soul and beloved matriarch, peacefully passed away on February 1, 2026, in Walls, Mississippi, at the age of 91. Born on December 19, 1934, in Springville, Mississippi, Eunice dedicated her life to her family, creating a warm and loving home that radiated with kindness and joy.Eunice was a proud housewife, and her life was filled with moments of laughter, love, and sweet memories. She took great pleasure in cooking for her family and enjoyed preparing delicious meals that brought everyone together. Her love for gardening bloomed into a beautiful passion, nurturing her plants as she nurtured her family with the same care and devotion. A lover of the outdoors, she delighted in bird watching, finding peace and tranquility in the simple wonders of nature. Eunice had an infectious love for Blue Bell ice cream, which often accompanied her joyful gatherings, and her heart danced with delight at the thought of twirling with her beloved late husband, James “Eddie” Young.A true family woman, Eunice's greatest joy stemmed from the time spent with her loved ones, including her daughters Becky Bateman (Tommy), Gina Wheeler (Jerald), Susan Harkins (Joe), granddaughters, Lacey Bartolotta (Andrew), Holly Jeffries (Jeremy), Briana Bateman and grandson, Cody Embrey. She is also survived by her great grandkids, Logan, Emilee, Jackson, Benny, Presleigh and Bryson, her sister Diane Allen Rieck and a host of nieces and nephews. She cherished each shared moment, imparting her wisdom and kindness across generations.Eunice is preceded in death by her husband of many years, James Edward Young, her loving parents; Homer Stanley McGregor, Thelma Rozelle Haney McGregor, her sisters, Sarah Geraldine (Gerry) Harden and Dorothy Nell McGregor Kemp. Eunice also had a keen eye for antiques and decorating, finding happiness in transforming her home into a beautiful sanctuary filled with treasures and memories. Her faith in the Lord guided her life, and she inspired all around her to embrace the goodness of life through love and compassion.

Visitation will be held on February 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Both will take place at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, MS. Graveside Services and burial will take place at Guinn Cemetery located in Pontotoc, MS

Service will be officiated by Mitchell Hall. Pallbearers will be Jerald Wheeler, Joe Harkins, Andrew Bartolotta, Jeremy Jeffries, Cody Embrey, Wayne Holcomb and Tommy Bateman.

Eunice Melba Young will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her warmth, spirit, and love will forever remain in their hearts.

Lisa Hudson, age 64, of Ecru, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, after a battle with cancer. Born on November 18, 1961, in Forrest City, Arkansas, Lisa was a beacon of love and strength for all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Lisa dedicated 24 years to running a beloved daycare, nurturing the minds and spirits of countless children. Her unwavering faith was evident as a faithful member of Greatest Mission Baptist Church, where she found comfort and community.

Lisa held a passion for gardening, finding joy in nurturing the earth and watching things grow. Her green thumb reflected the love she cultivated in her family and community. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She attended every event and milestone possible.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lisa's life with a visitation from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM on Wednesday January 14, 2026 at Greatest Mission Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Greatest Mission Baptist Church. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park in New Albany, MS. Service will be officiated by Bro. Steve Parrish and Bro. Marty Browning. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hale, Scott Hale, Tyler Nunnelee, Ashton Pharr, Daniel Robinson and Jonathan Simmons.

Lisa is survived by her loving daughters, Alissa Hale (Chris) and Jessica Kitchens (John) grandchildren, Elizabeth Pharr (Ashton), Hayden Hale, Alex Kitchens, and Knox Kitchens and nieces, Judy and Robbie Macon, who will forever remember her warmth, laughter, and unwavering support.

Lisa was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Micheal Hudson, her parents, Bert Cornelius and Monema Cornelius, her brother Clovis Macon and sister, Martha Stubblefield.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Lisa and her love for giving. She always enjoyed giving meaningful gifts to her family and friends. Her spirit will continue to shine through her family and the countless lives she impacted throughout her journey.

Dorothy Howell, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by the warm memories of a life well-lived. Born on December 10, 1934, in Memphis, Tennessee, Dorothy dedicated herself to her family and community from her early days

Mrs. Dorothy had a passion for sewing and quilting, creating stunning wedding dresses that encapsulated joyous moments for many couples. Dorothy also had a special love for feeding birds, finding solace and joy in the simple pleasures of watching them thrive. As a committed Christian, she shared her faith generously, inspiring those around her with her kindness and unwavering belief. She was a beloved pastor's wife.

Dorothy is survived by her three devoted sons, Leonard, Thomas (Lashon), and Derrick Howell (Jan), along with her cherished grandchildren: Corey Howell (Priscilla), Jason Howell (Jessie), Lindy Weeden (Justin), Blake Howell (Kim), Zack Howell (Kelly), Amy Baker (JC), and John Tigrett (Lauren).

She is also survived by her brothers, Glen (the late Dovie) and Thomas Humphreys (Judy), who will remember her with fondness and admiration. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Leonard Howell, Sr, her parents, Thomas and Catherine Humphreys and a grandson, Johnathan Howell.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dorothy's life during a visitation at Glenfield Funeral Home & Cemeteries on January 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 2:00 PM in the Glenfield Funeral Home chapel.

Service will be officiated by Bro. Jason Howell. Pallbearers will be Blake Howell, Zack Howell, Art Humphreys, Justin Weeden, Carter Weeden and Hayes Howell.
