Dorothy Howell

Dorothy Howell, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by the warm memories of a life well-lived. Born on December 10, 1934, in Memphis, Tennessee, Dorothy dedicated herself to her family and community from her early days

Mrs. Dorothy had a passion for sewing and quilting, creating stunning wedding dresses that encapsulated joyous moments for many couples. Dorothy also had a special love for feeding birds, finding solace and joy in the simple pleasures of watching them thrive. As a committed Christian, she shared her faith generously, inspiring those around her with her kindness and unwavering belief. She was a beloved pastor's wife.

Dorothy is survived by her three devoted sons, Leonard, Thomas (Lashon), and Derrick Howell (Jan), along with her cherished grandchildren: Corey Howell (Priscilla), Jason Howell (Jessie), Lindy Weeden (Justin), Blake Howell (Kim), Zack Howell (Kelly), Amy Baker (JC), and John Tigrett (Lauren).

She is also survived by her brothers, Glen (the late Dovie) and Thomas Humphreys (Judy), who will remember her with fondness and admiration. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Leonard Howell, Sr, her parents, Thomas and Catherine Humphreys and a grandson, Johnathan Howell.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dorothy's life during a visitation at Glenfield Funeral Home & Cemeteries on January 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 2:00 PM in the Glenfield Funeral Home chapel.

Service will be officiated by Bro. Jason Howell. Pallbearers will be Blake Howell, Zack Howell, Art Humphreys, Justin Weeden, Carter Weeden and Hayes Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Sullivan, Chuck Williams, Tim Holmes, Brian Joiner, Bobby Knighton, Larry Roberts, Hatley Howell and Ethan Howell.

In this time of remembrance, let us honor Dorothy's legacy of love, faith, and creativity, cherishing the beautiful moments we shared with her. She will be deeply missed yet will live on in our hearts and minds as a guiding light.

Donna Kay Martin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Kay Martin, who was born on November 22, 1954, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, and departed from this world on December 23, 2025, at the age of 71. Donna was a cherished member of her family and community, known for her warm spirit and deep love for her children and grandchildren.

Donna leaves behind her beloved daughter, Sera Martin; her son, John Dailey; her daughter-in-law, Angie Dailey; her grandsons, Marc Dailey (Ashton), and Hunter Dailey (Emily); her great-grandsons, Karson Dailey and Kayden Dailey; and her dear sister, Linda Nelson. She was a proud mother and grandmother, always ready to share a story, offering encouragement, and showering her family with love.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including her love for movies and television, her fondness for sharing the latest gossip, and her dislike of sitting in silence, which gave way to her passion for talking to everyone and filling her home with warmth and laughter. A devoted member of New Faith Baptist Church, Donna found solace and strength in her faith and in Jesus, which guided her through life's challenges.

Mrs. Donna will be laid to rest on December 27, 2025, with a private family graveside.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors and nurses at North Mississippi Medical Center during this time.

In celebrating her life, may we remember Donna's laughter, her unwavering faith, and the love she extended to all around her. She will be deeply missed yet lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Donna was preceded in death by Fred Martin, Boyd Weeden, and Peggy Sue Weeden.

Mr. Michael Shand Fooshee, 55, of Pontotoc, MS, passed away on December 10, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, surrounded by love.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, December 14, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, MS. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 2:00 PM in the Glenfield Funeral Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Friendship Cemetery in Ecru, MS. The services will be officiated by Reverend James Steel and Reverend James Wells, honoring Michael's life and legacy.

Michael was born on September 4, 1970, to Hugh Shand Fooshee and Shirley Rhodes Fooshee in New Albany, MS. A proud alumnus of the Pontotoc Schools, he dedicated many years to working as a supervisor in local furniture factories. He also pursued his passion for woodworking through his business, "Crosses of Hope," where he delighted in creating crosses and various handmade items.

On July 25, 2015, Michael married Tena Burch, the love of his life. Together, they built a warm and loving family, cherishing countless memorable moments. Michael was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to bring joy to those around him. His interests included fishing, hunting, and attending local auctions—activities that he deeply enjoyed.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Shirley Fooshee, and two sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tena B. Fooshee; his son Brandon Hood (Kerri) of Ingomar, MS; son Scotty Hood of Pontotoc, MS; daughter Kristinia of New Albany; daughter Shanda Fooshee of Texas; daughter Tristan Dulaney of Pontotoc, MS; daughter Courtney Vasquez of Pontotoc, MS; brother Sammy Hall of Ingomar, MS; brother Brian Mullenbach of Illinois; sister Bonnie Riley of Memphis, TN; and 12 cherished grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Jason Burch, Nathan Burch, Josh Burch, Brandon Hood, Biff Yellensky, and Scotty Hood. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Burch, Joel Burch, Gabriel Lumpkin, Wyatt Lumpkin, and Mason Hood.

Margaret F Phillips, 96, of Batesville, went to Heaven to be with her Savior on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

Born October 25, 1929 in Union County, she was the daughter of Clyde W. Rodgers and Mary Huffstatler Rogers Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Patsy Faust O'Callaghan, and her husband Wallace Phillips.

She attended the Liberty School in Liberty and moved to Aurora, Illinois in the 1960's to be near her daughter and grand-children. After the death of her first husband, Reno Faust, she married Wallace Phillips of West Memphis, Arkansas. They retired to Holly Springs then moved to Batesville, where they lived out their lives. She loved her family, friends, Cornerstone Baptist Church of Batesville, home making, and floral arranging.

She is survived by two step-sons, Wally Phillips of Memphis and Johnnie Phillips of Hopewell, Illinois, four grand-children, Rex Bishop of Williamsburg, VA, David Bishop of Eden, NC, Pam Keeling and Brittany O'Callaghan both of Tupelo, and numerous great and great great-grand-children.

Services will be held at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany on Monday, December 1 with Visitation at 1:00 PM and Funeral at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Union County.

Richard Lynn Pickens

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Lynn Pickens, who departed this life on November 13, 2025, just one day after celebrating his 74th birthday. Born on November 12, 1951, in Memphis, Tennessee, Richard was a beloved figure in his community, living most recently in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Richard dedicated a significant portion of his life to serving in law enforcement, displaying a steadfast commitment to protecting and serving the public. His career was not only a profession but a calling that he embraced with integrity and honor. In addition to his work as an officer, he contributed his skills to the Mississippi Gaming Commission and pursued his passion for gun smithing while remaining a supporter of Ole Miss sports.

Richard was a man of many interests and passions. He found joy in the great outdoors, relishing the opportunities to hunt and fish. His love for animals, particularly German Shepherds, further reflected his caring nature and deep-seated connections to his personal joys.

A devoted family man, Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Pickens, and his children: son Bill Pickens (Kayla) and daughter Tessa Sharafat. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Brody Pickens, Peyton Pickens, Marley Jo Pickens, Abdul-Raheem Khan, Nailah Khan, Abdul-Mamin Khan, Sakeena Muzher, and Sameeha Muzher, forging treasured memories that will be cherished by all.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Leonard Pickens and Jo Ellen Pickens.

As we remember Richard, we invite all friends and family to gather in celebration of his life. Visitation will be held on November 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM-2:00 pm at Glenfield Funeral Home, preceded by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Service will be officiated by Billy Shackelford.

In the spirit of reflection and remembrance, we hope to honor Richard's legacy of love, dedication, and community service. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.

William Nobles

William M. Nobles, age 75, of New Albany, Mississippi, passed away on November 9, 2025. He was born on June 25, 1950, in Pheba, Mississippi, and lived a life characterized by his deep appreciation for the simple joys-whether it was riding horses, enjoying mules on wagon trails, or spending his days fishing.

William proudly served his country in the United States Army from October 7, 1970, until his discharge on April 28, 1972. Following his military service, he worked diligently as a trailer spotter at Mohasco Corp, where he built lasting friendships and earned respect among his peers.

He is survived by his brothers, Tommy Nobles, Billy Nobles, and Roy Nobles, who will forever cherish his memory and the warmth he brought into their lives. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents Marvin Nobles and Lois Nobles, sister Earline Nobles Sharb, brothers, MC Nobles, Herbert Nobles, James Nobles and Bobby Nobles.

A visitation will be held at Glenfield Funeral Home on November 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Rev. James Steele will be officiating the service. William will be laid to rest in Glenfield Memorial Park.

William will be remembered for his kind spirit, love of nature, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy will live on through the hearts of those he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in his memory to a local charity of choice.
