Update from Mrs. Nellie Cook daughter

Mama has shown us the strength of a lion this week. After everything she has faced, she continues to fight with a courage that inspires us all. It has been a hard, emotional, and exhausting week, but she is still holding on, and we are so proud of her. We've told her we are proud of her no matter the outcome. If we could share every detail of this week with you, you wouldn't believe any of it- our God is simply amazng and only HE could have orchestrated the things that have taken place this week.

Today they are HOPING to start slowly pulling the vent back and gently waking her up. Please pray for her: especially for stability in her blood pressure as they begin this process and calmness in her heart, body, and mind. We continue to pray over her kidneys, her lungs, and her heart rhythm.

Please join us in praying for stability, renewed strength, and overwhelming comfort and peace, for her and for all of us walking this road beside her. And we hold to this truth: anything that causes us to depend on Christ is a good thing. Even in the hardest moments, He is using this to draw us closer and sustain us. We trust in God.

"He never promised that the cross would not get heavy
And the hill would not be hard to climb.
He never offered our victories without fighting,
But He said help would always come in time.
Just remember when you’re standing in the valley of decision
And the adversary says give in—just hold on.
Our Lord will show up, and He will take you through the fire again.”

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours.

Please continue to lift our dear secretary, Mrs. Nellie Cook, in your prayers. She is still facing many obstacles following her open-heart surgery, and she needs every prayer, every kind thought, and every bit of love our community can offer right now.

Mrs. Nellie is one of the most important members of our New Albany office — faithful, dependable, and truly cherished by all of us. We kindly ask that you keep her, her daughters, and her medical team in your prayers as they continue to navigate the days ahead.

Thank you for surrounding her with the same support and kindness she has always shown to others

Announcement from New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care

Beginning November 1, 2025, our business office will only be open the first week of each month to provide families with a convenient time to stop by and pay insurance policy premiums.

We want to assure everyone that this does not mean our business is closing. We remain honored to serve the Union County area, and we will continue to be available by appointment to help with arrangements, pre planning, or any need that may arise.

Our staff can always be reached by calling (662) 539-7000, and we are more than happy to meet at the New Albany location to help assist with any needs.

New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care is owned and operated by Ripley Funeral Home, our home office, where the same trusted care and commitment continue to guide everything we do.

We deeply appreciate our community’s understanding and continued support, and we feel truly fortunate to be able to care for and serve others during their most meaningful moments. It is our greatest privilege to help families when they need it most.

Please share.
