Baptist Floyd's Labor and Delivery is NOT closing.

We want to put a stop to any rumors that may have started when a local news chanels ran a story earlier this week in which they interviewed Mike Schroyer, President of Baptist Health Floyd and the title of the interview mistakenly stated “Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany could cut labor and delivery services.” That statement is absolutely false and has since been corrected.

The interview was about the financial hardships facing many Indiana hospitals, including Baptist Health Floyd. Emphasizing the financial challenges that hospitals in Indiana have been facing forcing other hospitals to close their OB departments.

We have delivered over 30,000 babies at Baptist Floyd and look forward to delivering thousands more there in the future and continuing to provide excellent care for the pregnant women in our Southern Indiana Community as we have for over 49 years.

We're growing and hiring - Medical Assistant
Qualified candidates will be able to:
Perform Routine Clinical Duties – Work up patients and accurately record patients’ medical history, vital signs and test results in electronic medical record; prepare and administer injections; clean and sterilize instruments; dispose of contaminated supplies; assist in patient exams (handing providers instruments and materials or performing tasks as needed); prepare examination rooms; maintain inventory and order medical, lab and office supplies.
Perform Laboratory Duties - Prepare tissue specimens for testing and maintain logs; collect urine specimens and perform routine laboratory tests; prepare samples for analysis or microscopy.
Good organization, oral communication skills and the ability to work well with customers and staff are essential.

Hard to believe it's been another year already. We want to share some photos from our annual Employee Appreciation outing. It's always fun to get together outside of the office.

Tara - Medical Assistant 5 years

A price cannot be put on the experience long term employees bring to our practice, they're truly appreciated ☺️☺️☺️

As a follow up to our previous post. We are excited that to announce that Dr Allison Polidori joined our group at the beginning of September.

After obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Biotechnology from the University of Kentucky, she went on to receive her Medical Degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2021. She completed her residency at Indiana University in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2025 and is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.

Dr. Polidori resides in Louisville and is excited to return to the area to take care of women at all stages of life. Join us in welcoming her to our Southern Indiana Community.

It's hard to believe it's been another year and another Employee Appreciation Holiday Dinner has come and gone. Our group has gone through more changes in the past few years than we did in the previous thirty. It's been challenging, but we are rolling with the changes adding new providers and new staff.

As part of our Appreciation Luncheon, we celebrate our employees with milestone anniversaries, some of us have been here for many, many years. We're hitting a time of transition with long time employees retiring. Dr Mahan retired earlier this year after 31 years with us. We were thrilled that she was able to join us at our luncheon. Dr Baldwin has been with us 36 years and looks forward to slowing down just a bit after the first of the year by not delivering babies anymore-he will continue to do surgeries and see gyn patients in the office. Dr Borden has also been with us over 30 years, she's not quite ready to retire, but has enjoyed being able to spend time with her family since she stopped delivering a couple of years ago. With only a mere 16 years with us :), Dr Lewis and Dr Allen will be ushering in our highly talented new physicians-Dr Coates and Dr Thompson. Unfortunately, Dr Hagan will not be able to stay with us (we've enjoyed the year she was with us), but another new physician will start with us next September. Her name is Dr Allison Polidori and we can't wait for her to join us.

Wow, that was a lot and that's just our doctors. We also had the following employee milestones:
Debi (receptionist) 20 years
Tera (Phone RN) 20 years
Charity (Medical Records) 10 years
Melanie (Phone RN) 10 years
Amber (Med Asst) 10 years
Kassady (Med Asst) 5 years

In addition, we have other employees with 26-29 years and several others approaching 20 years too many to list.

Tammy (Supervisor) 28 years
Michelle (Billing) 26 years

You can't work together this long and not build relationships with each other and with the community that we serve. It's been an honor and we plan to continue our long standing tradition of providing excellent care to our patients and providing an excellent place to work.
