Born out of a desire to bring peace of mind and relief in the body, Sukhino Float Center and Salt Cave is Southern Indiana's first float center AND first salt cave! We offer floatation therapy and halotherapy, both of which are centered around the therapeutic properties of salt, in its various forms. Float therapy involves stepping into our spacious float rooms and lying back into 10 inches of skin-temperature water that's mixed with over 1000 pounds of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate, MgSO4). You'll float effortlessly for up to 75 or 90 minutes, enjoying silence or music, colorful lights or pure darkness. Not only is floating great for relieving aches and pains in the body, it's a blissful break for your brain. To experience the benefits of halotherapy, we invite you to spend 45 minutes in our playful, peaceful salt cave. Breathe in the salty air while you rest in a treehouse cave environment like you've never seen. You'll gaze at the glowing Himalayan salt tile art wall, feel the texture of loose Himalayan salt on the floor, and breath deeply as the pharmaceutical grade salt (sodium chloride, NaCl) soothes your respiratory system. In Sanskrit, "Sukhino" means "centered in happiness and joy, free from suffering". We hope you'll join us to create that for yourself.

Every day is a good day to be thankful for the planet we call home.
Filled with many wonders and a multitude of resources, Earth is incredibly important and vital to all living beings. One of the many gifts Earth provides (and one of our favorites) is salt!
The pharmaceutical-grade sodium chloride we use in our halogenerator in the salt cave is found in seawater and in underground rock formations. From there, it's filtered and cleansed to the highest quality.
Halotherapy is an excellent way to add more of this fantastic compound into your life. Book a session today and get salty with us!

Dear Stressbusters,
When the world feels heavy and hard, it's important to pause and do something that gives you simple joy. Even if you can't run away and hop on a cruise ship, you can run away to the forest, your front yard, your favorite park, or - of course - Sukhino.
Love,
Float Mom

SLEEP. We love it. Truly. And it's so important to give yourself time for your body to rest, heal, and recover. If you suffer from chronic inflammation, it can negatively affect your sleep quality and result in less time spent in REM sleep, which is the deep sleep your body craves.
Do you have a nighttime sleep routine? Here are some things to consider:
š“ go to bed around the same time each night
š“ avoid screens and blue light in the evening
š“ create time to wind-down or journal before bed
š“ address underlying stress or mental health concerns
When you don't sleep well, you don't feel well. If you need to catch up on some sleep, you might need a float!

Some say weāre an odd couple. I (Kim) am a former leader in the corporate marketing and training world, yoga/meditation/mindfulness teacher, and Graham is a musician. I prefer the quiet world behind the scenes, and he loves the spotlight. I float to meditate and relieve anxiety, and he floats to relax the body. And weāre both honored and elated to bring this space to our community.
We never really dreamed of opening a business together, but the universe unfolded that path for us, and we joyfully accepted. (We actually met as co-workers at a restaurant that was known for itās āsugar waterā used to sweeten the tea, so itās funny that we dedicate ourselves to a business thatās known for itās salt water now!)
I heard about floating many years ago and became infatuated with it. At the time, we didnāt have any centers near us, but before I had even set foot in a float tank, I knew we would open a float center one day. Iād been teaching yoga and meditation for a few years, and Iād seen firsthand the transformation that occurs when people are provided the space to connect body, breath, and mind. Floating just seemed like a natural fit with my love for yoga and seeking release and relief from lifeās stresses.
I grew up in a family where itās a badge of honor to be overworked, exhausted, and often unfulfilled. Iāve watched almost every single family member battle chronic illnesses, disease, and injuries, and I knew I wanted to try something a bit different. I couldnāt escape that genetic work ethic, but Iāve channeled my hard work into serving others wherever I can. After learning about and seeing the sense of relief from those who have chronic pain, I was even more determined than ever to make the vision of providing float therapy a reality, but I let it simmer quietly in my head for about a year.
Many years ago, Graham and I were having a conversation, and he just sort of spit out, āSo, have you ever thought about getting married?ā And we were married in Jamaica two years later.
Things just sort of fit perfectly between the two of us. So, as we do, one day many years and two kids later, I asked if he wanted to open a float center together. He responded, āWhat the #$@&ās a float center?!ā Three years later, we opened our doors. Since we met, weāve always trusted that with a little hard work and lots of love, weāll find our way. And now, heās just as big an advocate of float therapy as I am.
So, what is floating?
Floating provides a unique opportunity to disconnect from the five senses and turn inward for a truly relaxing experience. You'll step into an enclosed tub with about 10 inches of water, warmed to your external body temperature. As you lie back into the solution, you'll float effortlessly with over 1000 pounds of salt to keep you afloat.
When you float with us, you can choose to keep the lights on or off, and listen to music or relish in silence, as you drift into a sense of comfort and stillness. (But please, try silence in the dark for a few minutes if you can. Thereās a lot of magic to be had there.)
Why should you float?
Floating has many benefits, ranging from relaxation to targeting common health issues to an overall sense of wellbeing. As you float, your body will be fully supporting, alleviating any pressure points. For those with chronic pain, it can be a life changer. Further, the mental break you'll get by floating is unlike any other. It opens the gateway towards a single point of focus, allowing meditation or a calm mind to come with ease.
Why Sukhino?
My favorite mantra is Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu. Itās a Sanskrit mantra that means, āMay all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.ā On its own, "Sukhino" means "centered in happiness and joy, free from suffering". We hope you'll join us to create that for yourself.
Thank you for giving us the honor of holding this space for others in our community. Itās a responsibility we donāt take lightly, and weāre utterly grateful for it.
Kim and Graham
