π€β¨ PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT: Fancy K. Fulton β¨π€
The stage is heating up for Press Play & Slay: Mic Drop Edition, and weβre excited to announce that Fancy K. Fulton will be bringing the energy to the mic (wellβ¦ the no mic π).
Fancy is a proud mom to two amazing kids, Dastan and Arabella, and a lifelong member of the community she loves, having grown up in New Albany and Carrollton and now raising her family here in Floyd County. By day, she serves local families as an insurance agent with Fulton Smith Insurance, helping people protect what matters most.
But Fancyβs reason for stepping onto this stage runs much deeper.
Fancy grew up in a home where addiction was a complicated and constant presence. Her mother struggled with addiction throughout much of her childhood β yet even in the midst of that battle, she carried a remarkable heart for others.
Their home often became a place where people in need could shower, eat a warm meal, rest somewhere safe, or simply be treated with kindness.
When Fancy questioned why her mom would help others while their own family was struggling, her mom would gently remind her:
βThey are still a person who deserves care and love.β
Those words stayed with her.
Years later, her mother found sobriety and Fancy was blessed with several beautiful years with a healthier, present version of her. But in 2023, Fancy lost her unexpectedly to a fentanyl overdose.
Even through that devastating loss, Fancy carries forward the lesson her mother taught her β that every person deserves compassion and dignity.
That is why she supports Project Recovery Southern Indiana.
Because they meet people where they are.
Because they serve our unhoused neighbors.
Because they walk alongside people battling addiction with compassion instead of judgment.
Because they remind people β often at their lowest β that they still matter.
And now Fancy is stepping onto the stage to help raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support a stronger, more compassionate community.
So when she takes the stageβ¦ make sure youβre ready to cheer her on. ππ₯
