I am a little late but still just as excited as day one when Community Bridges, Inc gained a new therapist. We are happy to add a culturally aware therapist with linguistic skills to lessen the gap between providers and undeserved populations.
Please join us in welcoming an addition to the Community Bridges family that we are blessed to have.
April Smith
Those who work with April quickly notice her steady presence and depth of experience. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), she has built a career supporting individuals and families across both the mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) fields. Her work has consistently placed her at the intersection of clinical care, advocacy, and systems navigation—where needs are complex and support must be thoughtful, flexible, and responsive.
April’s background spans direct psychotherapy, case management, care coordination, psychosocial assessments, and comprehensive treatment planning. She is known for her client-centered and strengths-based approach, adapting evidence-informed therapeutic techniques to align with each person’s goals, communication style, and lived experience. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively with underserved and marginalized populations, including Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HoH) individuals, and she remains deeply committed to culturally responsive and accessible care. Much of her clinical focus centers on anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity development, self-advocacy, and the mental health impact of systemic barriers.
Collaboration is a defining feature of April’s work. She regularly partners with interdisciplinary teams and external providers to ensure continuity of care, meaningful referrals, and client empowerment. Above all, her goal is to create a therapeutic space that feels affirming and respectful—one where individuals feel truly understood and supported, and where they gain practical tools to strengthen emotional well-being and foster long-term growth.
