The therapy couch. 🌿

It’s where stories unfold, where courage quietly shows up, and where healing begins to take shape. Many clients start their EMDR or Brainspotting intensive right here — settling into the soft cushions, taking a breath, and often getting a warm welcome from Elsie Mae, our resident therapy hound and professional snuggle expert. 🐾

Healing doesn’t have to happen slowly over years. Intensive sessions create a focused space to go deeper, faster, and more intentionally.

A few powerful facts about EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing):

• EMDR is an evidence-based trauma therapy recognized by the World Health Organization and the American Psychological Association.
• It helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming in the present.
• Research shows many people experience significant relief from trauma symptoms in fewer sessions compared to traditional talk therapy.
• EMDR works with the brain’s natural healing system — similar to how the body heals a physical wound.

When EMDR or Brainspotting is done in an intensive format, clients can spend extended, dedicated time processing what has been stuck for years — often creating meaningful shifts in a matter of days rather than months.

Sometimes healing starts with something as simple as sitting down, taking a breath…
and maybe sharing the couch with a very sweet dog.

Welcome to Iskra.
Where deep work meets soft places to land. 🌿

On Wednesday I had the privilege of being invited to a professional roundtable learning event to welcome and introduce the incredible Dr. Young and his neurofeedback program to Aegean Med Spa.

The afternoon was a beautiful reminder of how powerful community and collaboration can be. Sitting among other professionals who are passionate about growth, healing, and innovation created such an inspiring atmosphere. When practitioners come together to share knowledge, build relationships, and explore new approaches, it strengthens the entire community we serve.

Dr. Young’s work in neurofeedback opens exciting doors for supporting the brain’s natural ability to regulate, adapt, and heal. It was a pleasure learning more about his program and seeing how complementary services can intersect to create even greater opportunities for client care.

Events like this remind me how important networking and connection are—not just for our businesses, but for the people who ultimately benefit from the work we do.

Grateful to have been included in such a thoughtful and engaging gathering. I’m excited to see how these connections continue to grow and support the work happening across our community.

Special thank you to Sarah with First Loved yoga studio for thinking of me and asking me to join. ❤️

Hey guys! It's still me, just with a different name and new approach to the typical weekly therapy sessions. EMDR and Brainspotting intensives allow you to have your time back while accelerating your healing journey. Please follow my page, check out my website, interact with the post, and share with your friends. You know I love a good referral! Thank you for continuing to support my mission to heal people from the trauma they have had to endure. All my love!

IT’S LIVE!

My EMDR & Brainspotting Intensive Therapy website is officially up — and I’m incredibly excited to finally share this.

This wasn’t built casually.
It was built intentionally for people who are ready for real movement.

For the ones who function well.
Who carry responsibility.
Who push through.
Who look “fine.”

And who are also carrying complex or extreme trauma beneath the surface.

Trauma is not just a memory — it’s a nervous system imprint. When experiences overwhelm our ability to process them, they get stored physiologically and emotionally. EMDR and Brainspotting allow us to access and reprocess what’s been stuck.

Intensives change the structure.

Instead of months of start-stop weekly sessions, we dedicate extended, focused time to create momentum and measurable progress.

High achievers don’t always have high capacity for weekly therapy.

Busy professionals. Parents. Leaders. Caregivers. Survivors.
People ready to stop surviving and start actually healing.

If you’ve been thinking about doing deeper trauma work but time has been the barrier — this model was built for you.

I have an office open! You will be in a space where there are 8 offices total, and by some wonderful accident we are all mental health therapists. You don’t have to be in the mental health community to apply! We also have a receptionist on site that can be contracted depending on need. There are no sink hook ups so unfortunately I cannot rent to anyone needing that access. Private message Jessica Fuller or text at 2522289603 to schedule a walk through.

Due to the ongoing federal government funding lapse, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, formerly known as food stamps, may not be available in November.

Residents may check their balances on the ebtEDGE app or by calling the number on the back of their EBT card.

The Craven County Department of Social Services was not involved in the decisions leading to the potential disruption in benefits. Benefits are not dispersed directly from the County. Questions about benefits should be directed to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services – (800) 662-7030.

Craven County does not have an alternative benefit program. However, there are numerous food pantries in Craven County, some of which are listed below. This list is not exhaustive, and operating days and hours may change from time to time, so we have included phone numbers where available.
