This morning felt different.

The sun rose gently over the quiet rows, casting a warm glow across a place that holds so many stories. Each marker, each bouquet of flowers, a reminder of lives once lived, love once shared, and memories that never really fade.

Standing there, it didn’t feel like a place of loss—it felt like a place of connection. The stillness, the soft light, the way the morning wrapped everything in peace… it was almost like a quiet reminder that even in endings, there is beauty.

We don’t always get to hold on to the people we love, but moments like this remind us that their presence lingers—in the light, in the silence, and in the hearts they touched.

Sometimes, all it takes is a sunrise to remember. 🌅

At Greenleaf Memorial Park, we remain committed to the ongoing care and preservation of this sacred place.

We’re excited to share that we have recently reinvested in our grounds with the purchase of two brand new zero-turn lawnmowers, along with several additional pieces of equipment. These upgrades will allow our team to maintain the beauty, dignity, and tranquility that families have come to expect.

Pictured here is our “Junior Grounds Superintendent” Brody Bennett giving one of the new mowers a test run—he gave it his full approval 👍

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Brent Hart of Neuse Power Mowers for his guidance and expertise in helping us select the right equipment for our needs.

This investment reflects our continued dedication to honoring those entrusted to our care, today and for generations to come.

At Greenleaf Memorial Park, caring for the grounds is more than just a job — it’s a commitment to honoring the lives entrusted to us.

Today, Donald began a new project edging the sidewalks and driveways throughout the cemetery. If you’ve ever noticed the clean lines along our walkways, you know how much of a difference that careful detail makes in the overall beauty and peaceful appearance of the park.

Donald literally worked all day on this project and will keep at it until complete. While he focused on edging, the rest of our grounds team was busy throughout the cemetery working on preparing for services and general maintenance. Every task, big or small, is done with the same purpose — to respectfully care for the families and loved ones who rest here under our perpetual care.

It takes dedication, patience, and pride in the work, and we’re grateful for team members like Donald who give their best each day to keep Greenleaf Memorial Park a beautiful place for remembrance.

If you see our team working around the cemetery, feel free to wave or say hello — they truly care about the families we serve and the grounds they maintain.

Please join us in thanking Donald for his hard work today! 👏

At Greenleaf Memorial Park, we are continually working to improve the grounds and ensure a peaceful, welcoming environment for the families who come to visit their loved ones.

Currently, our team is removing roadside shrubbery that has become overgrown and misshapen over time. In some areas, these shrubs have begun to encroach on memorial stones and narrow the driveway space. Removing them will allow for easier access for visitors while also creating a cleaner, more open appearance throughout the cemetery.

As this work continues, you may see equipment and staff working in different areas of the grounds. We appreciate your patience and ask that you please pardon our progress as we make these improvements.

Once the shrubbery removal is complete, our staff will level the areas, smooth the soil, and plant grass seed to restore a well-maintained landscape.

A special thank you to our dedicated groundsmen, Noah and Dennis, for their hard work and commitment to keeping Greenleaf Memorial Park a beautiful and meaningful place for generations to come.

This afternoon, Greenleaf Memorial Park was gently transformed by snow ❄️🤍

A quiet blanket settled over the grounds, softening every path, every tree, every memorial—bringing with it a deep sense of peace.

Snow has a way of slowing the world down. It invites reflection. It reminds us of moments long past—of winters shared, laughter remembered, and love that never truly leaves us. Even in the stillness, the stories here continue to live on.

We know that for many families in our area, Greenleaf is a sacred place — it holds memories, tears, prayers, and conversations spoken quietly into the cold air. Seeing the park this way feels like a tender embrace—nature offering comfort, rest, and calm.

If you’re missing someone today, know that you’re not alone. Their memory rests here, cared for and honored, even on the coldest winter days. And when the snow melts, the love remains.

Please stay safe, keep warm, and take a moment—whether in person or in spirit—to remember, reflect, and find peace. 💙
