How can you help?

2. Donate any teen-friendly gifts or stocking stuffers, winter coats or even gift wrap or stockings.
3. Donate cash so we can shop for items requested by our teens.
4. After Thanksgiving, come in and select gifts from the giving tree in our lobby.
5. Share our posts about the program.
6. Ask your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, church groups and clubs to help as well!!

We’ve been taught that the way to “fix” our kids’ behaviors is through spankings, stern tones, or tough consequences… but the science says otherwise!

Research shows that coregulation, not punishment, is one of the most powerful tools in parenting.

Coregulation isn’t just a behavioral strategy, it’s a biological process that begins before birth. When we stay calm and connected, our child’s nervous system learns to do the same.

Want to bring the magic of calm back into your parenting ❓❓ Here are a few ways to start coregulating today!

You don’t have to control your child to guide them, you can connect instead. ❤️

Here’s the truth: kids don’t always need a perfect parent - they need a regulated one.

Last week we shared tools to encourage good behavior in children. This week we’re turning the focus inward: How parents can regulate themselves when parenting gets hard 😓

Want to know the secret to encouraging good behavior?? Stop waiting for your kids to “behave.” Catch them doing it! Praise it. Repeat it. Be specific, don’t just say “good job.” Tell them exactly what they did right like "I love the way you're sharing with your friend".

Your kids are watching everything you do, how you handle stress, solve problems, and how you stay calm. Regulate yourself, and you’ll teach them to regulate too!

Behavior change isn’t instant. Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. Stick with it. Checkout this video to learn more!

📚🚌 Back to School = BIG Feelings ‼️

School can be a huge deal for kids and those big feelings don’t always show up as tears. Sometimes, they come out as defiance, attitude, or meltdowns.

As parents, our job isn’t just to react to the behavior, it’s to look beneath it. Most behaviors are really just unmet needs (think about yourself and how unmet needs manifest into more). When we pause and dig deeper, we can help our kids communicate, problem-solve, and build the lifelong skills they need to thrive.

Key takeaway: Behavior is communication. Let’s listen underneath the words 💖

Comment below one strategy that works for you and follow me for more parenting and child well being tips and tricks 🪄
