Chad Needs A Kidney

Chad Needs A Kidney I need a Kidney transplant. My family and I are in search of our Miracle and Donor Hero. Hello! I am Chad Spittle and I am looking for a Kidney Donor.

Imagine my surprise when I went to the ER for an unrelated problem and was then sent to the hospital in an ambulance because they said my kidneys were failing. I have been diagnosed with End Stage Kidney Failure. Now, I am looking for the miracle I need to live a longer healthy life with my family.

Happy Kidney-versary!!! What an AMAZING year! ONE Year has gone by with One very big exhale and sigh of relief.  This last year has been crazy, humbling, stressful, and full of blessings. One would think New organ, all is well and back to your life. We have learned that a New organ means New life,  New habits, New concerns, New medical condition for life!
During this year we have been grateful for every day of life. Chad has been able to return to work full time, eat food, p*e like a Big Boy and even more importantly Safe Travel. He has been able to see friends family . He has been able to hold his grandchildren, laugh with them and walk with them.
We are both so grateful for our Kidney Donors. We extend the BIGGEST gratitude and thanks to our Donor Hero, Daniel. He is such a big important part of Chad's Kidney exchange. 3 Kidney Donors , 3 Transplants, 6 lives connected forever.
One year down and many many to go!

7 months Post Kidney Transplant!!! A couple of days ago was another super early wake day(4:15am) and journey to the San Antonio Transplant Hospital. Early Labs are a beast but worth the time and energy to keep track of my new kidney life. My nephrologist came in with good news that everything looked great! All my levels are on target and kidney functions are excellent. I know I still have a ways to go but looking forward to a healthier life and more time to be with friends and family. Grateful for everyone's continued support and help.
Take time to go to the doctor, have regular checkups, listen to your body and get blood work done regularly.

Happy 6 Month Kidney-versary to me!
Thursday was my 6 month after Kidney Transplant Operation  Check up. Another super early morning wake up call to check in with the University Hospital in San Antonio
Big shout out to my cousin and my personal hero Daniel Hunter who stepped up as a Living Donor and was a pivotal part of literally saving my life. I can't forget to give thanks to my anonymous matched donor who was part of a 6 person Kidney Transplant chain... 3 Givers and 3 recievers.
Over the last 6 months I have had a few hiccups, lots of blood draws, and most importantly I have experienced a lot of gratitude for life and family.

Finding out I was Stage 5 End stage Kidney Failure was a complete shock. Over 1.5 years I experienced 3 Dialysis modalities,  2 paramedic visits,  all kinds of crappy health challenges,  and a lot of emotional ups and downs.
I was also blessed to have a wonderful caregiver who I lovingly call my wife.
Elena and I shared thoughts and feelings using our "The Empty Chair" format on social media. We both really were a amazed how the people reached out and responded. Thank you!

It was amazing to have my kids, friends and various family members who took time out of their busy lives to spend time with me and cheered me up.

I am extremely grateful to have had so many people who looked into being a living donor.

The question I have for you: How are YOUR Kidneys? Take time to have your regular doctor visits,  read up on kidney health and don't ignore the warning signs your body is giving you.

KIDNEYS!! ARE YOUR KIDNEYS OK?

KIDNEYS!! ARE YOUR KIDNEYS OK?

Hint: You have two, but can thrive with one—

Yep, it’s the kidney!

Why? Millions suffer from kidney failure worldwide, primarily due to diabetes and high blood pressure. Unlike other organs, when kidneys fail, dialysis can temporarily take over their function, but a transplant is the only long-term solution for a better quality of life.

💚 Kidneys are unique because you can donate one and still live a healthy, normal life. This opens doors for living donations, significantly increasing the number of possible transplants compared to organs that require a donor to be deceased.

💚 Finding a compatible kidney donor is often easier than matching other organs, making kidney transplants more common.

Think about the difference one person can make, not just in giving a kidney but in giving someone a second chance at life. Y'all in?

Early Labs and Breakfast in New Braunfels.
No work for Chad today but he had blood draws this morning. Keep your fingers crossed 🤞 that his Prograf levels have continued to go down. Then breakfast at Buttermilk Cafe for Chad’s first Restaurant outing since his Kidney transplant in October. Not bad for a MLK Monday morning. 😁 It is also National Service Day. Take some time to help others, donate blood or consider helping by being a Living Donor. (3.5 months after transplant)
