Mary McAuliffe, APRN
Nurse Practitioner, Pak Medical Group by Innovacare Health.

Mary is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner specializing in Women’s Health, Internal Medicine, and General practice. She received her Bachelor of Nursing from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin and is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has over 15 years of clinical experience in primary care clinics, urgent care, and Emergency Department.

Mary was born in Illinois and raised in Boerne, TX. She has recently relocated back into the area. She and her husband have been married for 25 years and have 3 children, and an American Bulldog. In her free time, Mary enjoys listening to all genres of music, going on family vacations, hanging out with friends, and attending football games and other various sporting events.

She and her family are thrilled to make New Braunfels their home and look forward to serving the community

Alicia Nielson is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner at Pak Medical Group by InnovaCare Health, bringing a strong foundation in both acute and primary care nursing.

She earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2023, completing over 640 clinical hours across family practice, women’s health, and pediatrics. Her training emphasized comprehensive, independent care including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.

Prior to becoming an NP, Alicia built a robust nursing career with nearly a decade of experience. At Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, she served as a Registered Nurse in both the Postpartum and Medical-Surgical units, providing compassionate care to mothers and infants, managing chronic illnesses, and mentoring new nurses. Her leadership skills were further demonstrated during her tenure as RN Supervisor at Southern Utah Veterans Home, where she oversaw a multidisciplinary team and coordinated care delivery to improve patient outcomes.

Alicia is known for her clinical acumen, patient-centered approach, and commitment to continuous learning. Her diverse background equips her to deliver high-quality care across the lifespan in her current role at Pak Medical Group.

Outside of her clinical role, Alicia has been happily married for 16 years and is a proud mother of three, with two beloved dogs rounding out the family. She finds joy in traveling with her family, exploring destinations both abroad and across the U.S. with favorite spots including Spain, Italy, France, Canada, Honduras, and Mexico.

When she's not caring for patients or planning her next adventure, Alicia enjoys unwinding by building intricate Lego sets and spending quality time at home. Her ability to balance a thriving career with a rich personal life reflects her dedication, creativity, and deep-rooted compassion, qualities that shine through in her work as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Jerry Hu, DO, PharmD, MBA
Internal Medicine Physician

We welcome Dr. Jerry Hu who brings a rare and comprehensive perspective to Internal Medicine. As a Board-Certified physician who is also a former Clinical Pharmacist, Dr. Hu possesses a deep understanding of pharmacology that allows him to optimize treatment plans and focus on "whole-person" health.

Dr. Hu’s journey began at the University of Michigan, where he completed his undergraduate studies and pharmacy school. He went on to earn his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) before accepting a commission in the U.S. Army. He completed his residency at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and served with distinction as a physician and officer for over 12 years, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 2025.

Never one to stop learning, Dr. Hu recently completed his MBA at Rice University’s Jones School of Business, further enhancing his ability to deliver efficient, high-quality care. His clinical philosophy is rooted in empowerment; he strives to help every patient become the "best version of themselves" through preventative care and evidence-based medicine. He has a particular clinical interest in gut health and the microbiome as key drivers for wellness and longevity.

Now proud to call San Antonio home, Dr. Hu is excited to put down roots with his wife, Dr. Alexandra Yuri Hu, and their son, Konstantin.

Meet our newest Physician Assistant!!

Sofia C. Luna- PA-C, is a highly dedicated Physician Assistant, and we are excited to introduce her as the newest addition to our wonderful team of mid-level providers at PAK Medical Group. Sofia is from the Rio Grande Valley and brings 25 years of experience in Family Practice. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

She is personable, a good listener, and is focused on providing quality care for her patients. During her tenure, she has focused on the treatment of diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, COPD, CAD, and other diseases related to complications resulting from metabolic syndrome. She also has extensive practice in treating perimenopausal and menopausal women, hormone replacement therapy for men and women and pediatric and adolescent care.

Sofia graduated from The University of Texas at Pan American with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She was certified by the NCCPA in 2004. During her undergraduate studies, Sofia served as a teacher’s assistant for introductory biology lab courses where she developed an interest in research. She has been involved in multiple ongoing studies related to the treatment of diabetes in obese patients under the age of 45. She has proven success in the treatment of morbid obesity and has helped many patients achieve better health.

Sofia is a grandmother of 5 and loves to spend her spare time spoiling her grandchildren. She loves to cook and is a dedicated wife and mother. Sofia serves her community in the catholic church and is passionate and driven in helping those in need.
