We are looking for a mix of experienced and entry-level candidates!
- 120 hours of PTO per year (plus 8 hours per year of service)
- Flexible work schedules

HST is Hiring!

We are growing rapidly and are looking to fill immediate Medical Billing Specialist positions (right now, we have about 5 openings). So, if anyone out there is looking for an opportunity to work with yours truly - now is your chance!

Seriously though, we are looking for experienced medical biller's but are open to talking to candidates with little/no experience but are willing to learn! If you are a motivated, dependable, detail oriented and tech-savvy person, this may be just the job for you.
This is an in-office position, located at our office in New Brighton, PA.

A photo of our building when it was Union National Bank and when it had a 3rd floor! The 2 story building to the left is also part of our building (today). The buildings were combined and renovated in the year 2000.

Medical Biller
Reporting directly to the Medical Billing Manager, the Medical Biller will be a very well-rounded and hands-on professional with the ability to follow through on short term, process-oriented goals.

Key Areas of Responsibility
The Medical Biller is accountable for the overall effectiveness of the revenue cycle process for our physician practice clients. This includes meeting or exceeding the standards established by our company to achieve superior client satisfaction and retention. The Medical Biller will be focused on maximizing revenues and cash flow for our clients by performing any or all of the following key tasks:
- Accurate and complete patient demographic data entry
- Efficient and accurate charge entry
- Detail oriented charge entry review
- Diligent Accounts Receivable follow-up on unbilled/inactive claims
- Detailed denial reviews and claim submission (re-submission)
- Aggressive claim appeals to maximize reimbursements
- Review and follow-up on all charges that are unpaid beyond normal expectations
- Apply (post) insurance and patient payments to the patient accounts in a timely manner
- Process take-back requests due to insurance overpayment
- Balance all deposits

Other Areas of Responsibility

Communications
- Receive patient phone calls for all full service clients conveying empathy to the patients while responding in a timely, efficient manner
- Place phone calls to patients in an attempt to collect on unpaid balances due to our clients.
- Communicate via "To-Do's" (messages in our software) with co-workers and clients
- Work with co-workers, Managers and other company executives to meet and exceed company objectives

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Candidate must possess the following: prioritization skills, communication skills (written and oral), organization skills, attention to detail and computer skills (Excel and Word). Must display the ability and willingness to work in a fast paced, team environment and have a strong sense of urgency to meet and exceed personal and company goals. Other job requirements include:
- Experience with medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices.
- Strong abilities using MS Office tools.
- Ability to navigate several on-line insurance web sites.
- Ability to be able to learn and work in multiple patient accounting systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, management, employees and the public.
- Strong typing skills required
- Ability to read and interpret EOB's (Explanation of Benefits) and insurance contractual adjustments
