Please join us in congratulating Julia and wishing her good luck as she wraps up her last day of rotations! We are so thankful that she was able to spend her last 5-week rotation with us before she graduates in a couple weeks and becomes a licensed pharmacist. Upon graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Julia will do a 1-year residency at the VA in Butler, PA.
It was perfect timing as she got to see first-hand how beneficial and affordable a cost-plus pharmacy can be; especially when the popular diabetes and heart failure drug, Farxiga, went multi-source generic. Within a week, our price went from $378 to $34 to $17 while other pharmacies and insurance companies are still charging patients hundreds of dollars for the same medication and will be for a long time.
And for those who listened in on WBVP-WMBA this month, Julia chooses hot dog with cheese.
