Chloroform Drop Bottle Flask Amber, c1870. "it was in a collection of a doctor in Turin in Italy, it was part of his private collection as he was an anesthetist, but now deceased, in March 2022 and his entire collection was auctioned. "William Thomas Green Morton (August 9, 1819 – July 15, 1868) was an American dentist who first publicly demonstrated the use of inhaled ether as a surgical anaesthetic in 1846. The promotion of his questionable claim to have been the discoverer of anaesthesia became an obsession for the rest of his life." - "The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) theatre (where the demonstration was done) came to be known as the Ether Dome and has been preserved as a monument to this historic event."
