Dr. Banting’s medical practice has now been open for a full month. How much did he earn? His total July income was $4 (which is equivalent in purchasing power to about $48.71 today). Dr. Banting’s practice would see an increase in patients in the coming months.

Dr. Banting saw another patient, a soldier seeking a liquor prescription. Banting did not record this patient in his ledger, but the story can be found in his memoir.
