Busy start to the Thanksgiving weekend for the men and women at Station 28.

Just before 8 am the box assignment was dispatched to grid 3210 for a house on fire. Squad 32 arrived and reported smoke showing from the Charlie side. Interior crews confirmed a cooking fire extinguished upon arrival.

Around 10 am Wilmington Fire was dispatched to box W202 for a fire on a docked ship. Crews arrived to find a fire in the engine room. Command struck the 2nd alarm bringing squad 32 and Ambulance B28 to the scene. Crews operated for a couple of hours before being released by command.

Ladder 28 makes the response to the 🔔🔔 Fire in Odessa.

At midnight Ladder 28 was sent as part of the second alarm to assist the Odessa Fire Company on box 2443 for the residential structure fire. Arriving companies found a wind driven fire with exposures. The crew from ladder 28 assisted in various fire ground tasks before being released.

Engine 28 handles 1st due house fire 🔥

Just before midnight last night Engine 28 and mutual aid was dispatched to the 200 block of Garfield Ave in Wilmington Manor for a house on fire. Engine 28 arrived as the dispatch was going out to report a 1 story residence with smoke showing. The crew from engine 28 stretched the bumper line extinguishing the fire and holding it to the room of origin. The scene was then turned over to the State Fire Marshal for the investigation. Battalion 23 had the Wilmington Manor Command.

Engine 28 is currently operating on box 1810 assisting Good Will Fire Company on a commercial structure fire in the Twin Spans Industrial Park. Units from station 18 arrived on scene with smoke showing. Engine 28 arrived shortly after and took the second due engine assignment securing the hydrant for engine 18. The crew from engine 28 worked with engine 18 on the initial handline to extinguish the fire.

Always happy to help out the burn camp. We hope these kids enjoy their week away!!
