Engine 28 operates on the 4th 🔥 of the weekend.

Engine 28 operated as the 2nd due engine on Box 1217. Units arrived to find a 3 story apartment building with smoke coming from the attic. Interior crews found active fire in the void space of a 3rd floor apartment. Engine 28 stretched a back up line which was directed by Command to be taken to the room of origin. Crews from 12, 28, & 14 operated in the fire apartment, extinguishing the fire and checking for extension.

Squad 32, Chief 28 and mutual aid are currently on scene of an MVC with entrapment. Squad 32 arrived confirmed two trapped.

North DuPont Highway will remain closed while crews operate on scene.

Busy night for Engine 28 🔥🔥

Just after 8PM last night Engine 28 made the response to the 🔔🔔 Fire in the Pike Creek section of Newark assisting Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company. Engine 21 arrived on scene reporting fire through the roof. Engine 28 arrived as a supplemental engine and stretched a supply line to Ladder 19 to prepare for master stream operations.

At 2 AM this morning the building assignment was sounded for box 2815 on the working commercial building fire. Engine 28 arrived first on scene confirming a small commercial building fire throughout. Due to the advanced fire conditions a defensive mode was established immediately. Crews operated master streams and handlines for 2 hours before clearing the scene.

Last night Ladder 28 was alerted to box 1810 in Jefferson Farms for the house fire. Initial reports were for flames from the house with possible subjects trapped. Deputy 18 arrived confirming fire showing and all residents accounted for. Ladder 28 arrived moments after Engine 18 and assumed the first due special assignment conducting searches, vented the roof and opened up for the engine. Units operated for approximately 3 hours before being released by command.

Busy start to the Thanksgiving weekend for the men and women at Station 28.

Just before 8 am the box assignment was dispatched to grid 3210 for a house on fire. Squad 32 arrived and reported smoke showing from the Charlie side. Interior crews confirmed a cooking fire extinguished upon arrival.

Around 10 am Wilmington Fire was dispatched to box W202 for a fire on a docked ship. Crews arrived to find a fire in the engine room. Command struck the 2nd alarm bringing squad 32 and Ambulance B28 to the scene. Crews operated for a couple of hours before being released by command.

Ladder 28 makes the response to the 🔔🔔 Fire in Odessa.

At midnight Ladder 28 was sent as part of the second alarm to assist the Odessa Fire Company on box 2443 for the residential structure fire. Arriving companies found a wind driven fire with exposures. The crew from ladder 28 assisted in various fire ground tasks before being released.
