At Meadowwood, we work hard to ensure that each of our patients leaves ready to live a healthy life and enjoy freedom from addiction.

Can you tell the holiday spirit is in the air with all the decorations? Last Friday, Julie and Judy participated in a Delaware Goes Purple event. It was an evening of inspiration, resilience, and action as residents, families, leaders, and advocates came together to break stigma, celebrate recovery, and strengthen community.

The event featured two powerful national voices for recovery: Carrie Bates, a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and Tara Conner, former Miss USA. Through their personal journeys, they continue to inspire advocacy, expand access to treatment, and show that recovery is possible.

Last week, Julie had the privilege of representing Meadowwood Behavioral Hospital at Delaware Hospice, Inc.’s “Festival of Trees” at Brantwyn Estates. The event brought together many local businesses that sponsored beautifully decorated wreaths, trees, and other holiday displays. A highlight of the afternoon was listening to Kathleen Wood, whose flute performance added a warm and festive touch to the celebration.

Many of the decorated trees will be donated to local nonprofit partners who support the community year-round. The event was a meaningful way to connect with local organizations and embrace the spirit of the season.

This Veterans Day, we pause to honor the courage and dedication of those who have served our country. At MeadowWood, we are fortunate to have Veterans on our team who carry that same commitment into the care they provide every day.

Meet Anthony, our Nursing Manager and Army Veteran. His leadership, experience, and dedication inspire everyone around him and reflect the values he served to protect.

We are grateful to Anthony and all Veterans for their service, both in uniform and in their continued impact on our community.

We were grateful to join a discussion led by U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester on pharmacy benefit manager reform and improving access to affordable prescriptions in Delaware.

The conversation brought together healthcare and mental health organizations committed to ensuring patients can access the medications they need without barriers.

We appreciate the opportunity to be part of this important dialogue on transparency and affordability in healthcare.

Our Story

MeadowWood Behavioral Health System, located in New Castle, Delaware, is a 120-bed psychiatric and addiction treatment facility located on 11 private acres. We are a top provider for adolescent, adult, and geriatric mental health and substance abuse treatment services in the area. As a psychiatric and addiction detox treatment facility, we offer a safe and comfortable environment where patients can leave the stress of the outside world behind and focus completely on their recovery.

Our entire staff is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to all individuals who come to us looking for a higher quality of life. As trained behavioral health professionals, we coordinate individualized psychiatric treatment plans and safe detox programs with health care providers, family members, and other community supports. Our physician-led team of behavioral health clinical professionals focuses on treating each person individually rather than as a member of a group. We do not simply treat the symptoms afflicting our patients, we treat the entire person as a whole. Additionally, we believe that by keeping open communication between clinical team members, our patients, and the patient’s families, we are able to provide exceptional customer service that ensures the focus is always on our patients in helping them find long-lasting, successful recovery.
