At United Hospice, we are inspired daily by the courage of our patients, the devotion of families, and the unwavering hearts of caregivers and community partners. Your resilience fuels our mission. Your trust moves us forward. Your love sets the example.

Motivation doesn’t always roar—sometimes it whispers through a hand held, a burden shared, or comfort offered in silence. Those moments change everything.

Our President and CEO Cara Pace appeared on 107.3 WRWD to talk about the important work she has been doing to protect nonprofit hospices in New York State.

The Hospice Integrity Act, which Cara has been fighting for, would ban new, for-profit hospices in New York and is on Governor Hochul’s desk, ready to be signed. Call the Governor's office at 518-474-8390 or send her a message through her website and tell her to put patients over profits by signing this bipartisan bill into law!

"My mother received exceptional care at Joe Raso hospice facility. The staff was compassionate and attentive, the facility was clean and peaceful, and the chef-prepared meals were a thoughtful comfort. We were deeply grateful for the kindness shown to both my mother, me and the rest of our family during a very difficult time." says Corinne on Google

In AMNY, Cara Pace, CEO of United Hospice, lays out a powerful and urgent case for why Governor Hochul must sign S3437/A565 — legislation that would prevent the further expansion of for-profit hospice programs in New York State.

Her op-ed is a must-read.

It highlights what many of us in the field see every day: nonprofit hospice providers deliver care grounded in compassion, accountability, and community commitment — not shareholder returns. Allowing unchecked growth of for-profit hospice programs risks compromising care for some of our most vulnerable neighbors at the end of life.

This legislation protects quality, preserves integrity, and ensures that hospice care in New York remains centered on people, not profit.

I encourage you to read Cara’s important piece and join the call to action.
Let’s make sure Governor Hochul hears from all of us who believe hospice care should remain mission-driven and patient-centered.

Read the op-ed, share it, and add your voice in support of S3437/A565.
Together, we can help safeguard the future of hospice in New York State.

"My dad stayed at Joe Raso for seven weeks, until he passed on November 11. There are truly no words big enough to express the gratitude my family and I feel. From the moment he arrived, every person there cared for him with dignity, kindness, and love. They supported him, and us, with a level of compassion that we will never forget.
The facility itself is peaceful and beautifully maintained. It has a quiet and calm.." says Sydney on Google
