It’s almost April here on The Speech Farm. The giant snow bank has melted and we are able to visit the animals once again! The goats are so happy to lay outside and soak up the sun. They love when the kiddos come to feed them leaves and laugh at their goat antics. The garden has sprouted tulips, daffodils, allium, and hellebores, they will be showing off before we know it. This month will be filled with outdoor egg hunts, bunny crafts, flower pot decorating, signs of spring scavenger hunts, bug houses, frog and turtle hunts, and fresh air!!!!!
Looking forward to a great spring on the farm. Happy Easter and Passover 🐇🐣🌸💐

It’s the most wonderful time of the year 🥰🥰🥰. December has arrived and with it some fresh falling snow. The harvest season is behind us and the soil has gone to sleep until Spring. Christmas lights twinkle, stoves are warming, and smells of balsam fir and Christmas cookies fill the air. The lights are strung over the coop so the kiddos can enjoy the Christmas garden and the newly chubby- for-winter goats by soft light. Games of I spy in December, gingerbread playdoh, seasonal crafts, wreath making, potpourri making, and ornament decorating are all on the plan for this month.

What a wonderful thing October in New England 🥰 🍁🍂🎃. I am so excited for this month on the farm. The garden is slowly turning golden and burgundy, the air has felt crisp, and the smell of leaves fills the air. Pumpkins are on their way and the garden has begun its Halloween transformation for fun I say games with Halloween vocabulary. The kiddos are having fun feeding leaves to the goats and chickens.

This month will be filled with pumpkin crafts, spooky bins, pumpkin playdoh, exploding Jack o lanterns, and pumpkin seed harvesting. I’m excited to help all the Speech Farm kids with their articulation, myofunctional, and language goals this month! Bring on the pumpkins!!!!!!

Welcome back speech families!!!!! Sessions begin next Tuesday. I cannot wait to see friends both old and new and hear all about summer adventures!

You can feel the air is starting to shift toward new seasons ahead. Mornings have been brisk which the goats have been loving. They are so vocal and active each day waiting for their breakfast. Teddy is loving chasing his ball each morning and Henri is enjoying yelling at him from the deck 😂.

The garden is turning into its rosy autumn hue. The bees are busy with all the sedum and black eyed susans, and every once in awhile you see a falling leaf, a sign of what’s to come.

September will be full of making new friends, apple and corn crafts, apple picking sensory bins, and apple spice playdoh. I can’t wait to see everyone 🍎 🌽 🍁

Missing all the kiddos on The Speech Farm this summer, but enjoying lots of family time and sun! The goats are enjoying being let out “accidentally “ by their brother Owen and running around the yard with friends. The chickens are still laying their eggs and clucking away. Simba is getting so big and adjusted so fast to the home, puppies, and Winston! You all remember Winston would hide and be so aloof? Now he is so happy and comes out all the time! Who knew he needed another feline in the house?!?!?! The garden is popping out tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers while the flowers are putting on a a beautiful summer show.

Starting to plan for all the fall fun to come. Consultations for new kiddos will be mid August and returning kiddos are being scheduled currently! Enjoy the rest of your summer adventures and I will see you soon ❤️

It’s May on The Speech Farm! The days are full of sunshine and color finally! The farm has helebores, daffodils, azalea, allium, rhubarb, strawberry and tulips in bloom. The goats are busy rubbing off their winter coat on the fence, and have lost their winter chub, ready to brave the heat to come. We have had visits from baby snappers, tree frogs, blue herons, and a plethora of spring birds the past couple of weeks. We are getting ready for our baby chicks and butterflies and maybe just maybe some new honey bees, which will be very exciting! The kids will be busy exploring and creating Mother’s Day crafts, Memorial Day crafts, gnome garden sensory play, learning about butterflies, and planting sunflowers 🌻.

If you have come to The Speech Farm you know a very special chicken. Snowball. The chicken who runs to be scooped up and loves christmas carols. Definitely a farm favorite. Unfortunately an animal came in the run last night and scooped up her and the beloved ducks 😥. I just wanted any families who love the ducks and snowball to know before sessions this upcoming week.

It’s almost Spring on The Speech Farm. The birds are louder, the days are longer, the animals are peppy, and we got our first egg since fall! March will be full of learning about maple syrup, catching leprechauns, clover hunts, lions, and lambs! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy March ☘️🍀

Our winter bird unit is under way. We have made bird feeders, hand print cardinals, read books on winter birds, learned about male birds being more colorful, watched for birds out the window, and tried out our bird caller. The birds are enjoying their birdseed right outside our treatment room. Hopefully the kids will get to see them visit in the coming days ❤️🕊️

First snow on The Speech Farm for this season. The animals were loving it this morning. Teddy and Henri took to the back yard for running and romping, the goats seemed to gain more fluff overnight, the chickens are cozy in their coop, and Winston found the softest blanket right near the window to watch the snow fall. It is so peaceful with the blanket of fresh white powder all around. This month has been a blur but full of fall harvest fun. We quickly went from mummies to turkeys (did you know a group of turkeys is called a rafter?). We’ve been having Imaginex Thanksgiving feasts, Thanksgiving railway turkey deliveries, all things turkey crafts, feathers, and songs.

We hope all the families who come to speech and within the community have a very wonderful Thanksgiving full of family and friends 🦃

Employee of the Month!

Winston takes the employee of the month award! The always elusive, forever inquired about, Winston typically hides from people but is often caught hiding in the bonus room or running through the kitchen when kiddos come. He is known to play with the speech toys, paint the floor with left over paint, and get into mischief in the speech room after hours. He loves Fall and Halloween is his favorite holiday! Let’s here it for Winston 🎃 👻
