Pat’s journey with prostate cancer began at age 56 — and led him to a groundbreaking treatment at MercyOne.

Thanks to the precision of CyberKnife® radiation at the MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center, Pat received a personalized, non-invasive treatment in just five sessions instead of the traditional 28.

In 2022, Pat became the first person in Iowa to receive CyberKnife for prostate cancer. “There’s always someone who has to be first,” he said — and he chose MercyOne for its expert team and compassionate care.
