Thank you to The Good News Foundation for its generous donation in the amount of $30,000 to the Sitrin Military Program. These funds were raised from The Good News Foundation’s Flags for Heroes event. We deeply appreciate The Good News Foundation staff as well as all the sponsors and volunteers that helped make this event a great success!

We are proud to support Sitrin Health Care Center and Camp Sitrin, located on Graffenburg Road in Frankfort, NY. Sitrin’s Military Program works with veterans to heal all their injuries – those you can see, and those you cannot. Camp Sitrin’s 142-acre property includes a 10-acre lake, nature trails, playing fields, and pavilions. In addition to serving as a healing environment for Sitrin’s Military Program, the camp is also used for other events, including the yearly youth fishing derby and annual Warrior Retreat. Those who participate in the Military Program or attend these events are able to row the waters of the camp’s reservoir, play outdoor games on the lawn, enjoy lunch under the pavilion, and camp out under the stars.

The campus is buzzing with holiday spirit as every department, unit and house participated in a holiday decoration contest. We were very fortunate to have Senator Joe Griffo, WKTV NEWSChannel 2 Kristen Copeland, and Frank Mastrovito from Mastrovito Hyundai serve as judges!

While all entries were amazing, the winner for most in keeping with the theme was Home Alone 2 (Front Lobby Inpatient Entrance), originality was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Gan Kavod), creativity was Mrs. Claus' Old Fashioned Gingerbread Bakery (Mulberry House), and most holiday cheer was Elf the movie (Administration Hallway).

Staff Spotlight: Pamela Clark, Recreation Leader

Recreation Leader Pamela Clark loves spending time with the residents, whether that is a one-on-one conversation or enjoying outings such as the zoo or shopping trips. She has many great memories with the residents but one thing she will never forget is her interactions with them every day.

Originally from Richfield Springs, NY, Pam grew up on a dairy farm where she showed Holstein cattle at local and state fairs. Now residing in Ilion, she and her husband have 3 sons and 1 grandson. Her oldest son currently attends Utah State University where he is studying to be a pilot and is also in the Air Force Reserves. Her middle son is an underwater diver-welder, and her youngest is currently attending the police academy.

When not working, Pam enjoys traveling, kayaking, crafting, experiencing new things, and spending time with her family.

Molly Healy, director of recreation therapy, said, “I cannot say enough about Pam - she goes above and beyond for our residents every day. She is so caring, always willing to lend a helping hand and can always be found with a smile on her face. Pam is a true asset to the Recreation Department and to our residents and families.”
